Using Blender

re: Blender in trainz

How would one go about doing this? I use Blender 2.49 and really like it but I haven't been able to figure a way to create the necessary .im and .kin files to use in the trainz 2006 that I have.
I can never seem to get Gmax to properly Import the 3ds files, or perhaps I am not exporting them from Blender correctly.
Any advice?

Create the mesh in Blender, UV map it then export it. TRS2006 is just setting the version to 2.6 or less in the config.txt file.

Have a read through here:

I think it creates a TRS2004 asset but the method is the same.

Thank you

Thank you very much for the link.
I had been looking for something like this for a while with no success.
I am sure this will help a lot. Now I can properly scale the same models I created in .X to work in trainz.:)
