Using AI to change points direction.

I am new to this forum stuff and this is my first "thread" but I have a question. I have read alot of posts regarding AI problems, scripting (although I have no idea how to do it) placement of points etc. I don't appear to have a problem with AI, signals and points. As long as I set up the points "correctly" in the route layer and use timing of trains, it all works. I enjoy it. But. When approaching a double main line from a branch, using a cross over between the two main lines, there is a short section of "The Line Ahead is Unsignaled" which is OK. Its the short piece between the points. When AI train sees this, signal is red, train stops, points change, signal show "proceed", train proceeds. Yeah. Is there a way to trigger the points on the other side of the crossover to change as the train approaches so it does not have to stop. Its not so much a pain as it just just takes up so much time getting the train mobile and clear of the crossover. Fingers crossed. Thanks in advance.

See, you are already using the correct terminology ("trigger") like a Trainz Pro. You can add a track trigger (they look like green 3D plus signs - they can be found where you get trackmarks) to a section of track and link the trigger to a set of points (or more than one). When a train (you can specify any loco or a specific loco, even a specific driver) moves over the trigger the points can be set to the desired configuration.

Hi OldGuy, I'm a bit old myself. However N3V have started video tutorials which can answer heaps of your questions. I'd queried basically the same thing you are now asking. Check this link, there are about 8 video sessions already and are certainly worth viewing.

Twitch TV Trainz - Content Creation - #8 - How to use triggers in your sessions --
Good luck.
