username showing as "unknown"

I don't know why it dose this, but on every route that I've fiddled around with since reinstalling TRS19, instead of stlsf4003 showing up as the author it just says "unknown".

I know i'm logged in but it still shows unknown for author on every route I've edited.

Either this is just more SP3 crap, or i've done something to screw up my install.

When you say "fiddled around with" did you first clone the route which puts it under your own name and kuid?

What I mean is that after editing a route, be it payware or freeware, a copy is usually made when i save the route with my user name an kuid. But now any time I edit a route, it save's the author as unknown and the kuid is changed as well.

Here's what I mean.

The route on the left is one I had been working on before I uninstalled then reinstalled TRS 19. While the one on the right is what happened after doing some light editing of the route on the left after reinstalling it.

Made by the same guy, but 19 seems to think otherwise!

I noticed the negative kuid value on the version on the right. Negative kuids are reserved for Auran/N3V created routes - unless this has changed recently.

When you reinstalled TRS19 did you set its permission level to Administrator? (Clutching at straws here)
(Another straw) Have you added TRS19.exe to your AV program real time scan exclusion list?

On that last point some AVs will remove a program from the real time scan exclusion list when it is updated or reinstalled.

I'm working with the steam release of 19, so it didn't throw up anything about asking for admin permissions. As for AV exclusion list's I didn't have to do that when i first got 19 back in 2020. I'm running Trend Micro, So I wouldn't know how to add the TRS19.exe to a list.

You have saved the route or done a DBR before you entered your user name and password into Trainz settings. This will set the kuid to a -2. Open the asset config and change the kuid number to your ID number.

I'll delete the copy and do a DBR once i get a few thing installed.

OK, so it turns out that all i had to do was verify the integrity of the game files on steam and once i booted 19 up, my user name and kuid where back to normal! :D

Well done and thank you for reporting back to the forum. Now others who may have the same problem can find a solution.
