Use Backup Files??

In Options I currently have Backup Files set to 7. I never paid any attention to them but I now have some program crashes. I looked in the manual (TS2012) but found no information on how to use the files for restoration. Anyone know?

The backups are organized according to date. For example, the assets I've worked on today that have been backed up will be in this folder:

E:\TS12\UserData\backups\14-06-21

To restore the content, find the folder that contains the asset (folder names may be a bit cryptic so just browse through all of em) and import the folder back into CMP.

I think you use the Import Content function from the drop down menu in CMP and navigate to the required folder in User Data (assuming you can identify it).

NB: It's probably not a good idea to leave the backup folders set at 7 as this will really stuff up your hard drive space which in itself causes problems with Trainz, particularly when trying to save a large(ish) route in Surveyor. Better off reducing the number of active backups to 1, to avoid munching up GB's of HD space.

Those backups are awesome and have saved me the few times I've used them. I simply import them in Surveyor and allow the data to overwrite anything that's already there in Trainz. I've picked through them to find exactly what I'm looking for such as a route I was working on and had completely mashed pretty badly.
