They look a bit like they're photoshopped. Actually, they look a lot like they're photoshopped. :)

Uh, Nope.

nikos1 They look like backdrop object to me. If thats the case if you can put them further in the distance i think that would look great.
It is a backdrop. It's the SaltRiver on the dls. I was more focused on the train and foreground. The backdrop was just thrown in at the last moment.

Zorronov No...I don't think it's a backdrop...too many jagged edges. That looks like someone's been playing with their "magic wand". :)
No photoshop or magic wand in my screenshots. It's all Trainz.

Ahhhh...so it's the backdrop that's photoshopped then. The jagged edges on the terrain are a selection artifact. My apologies...

Cheers,
Fred

It's all good. I thought I'd try something different. You don't usually see backdrops used in screen shots. Well, not like how I used them. I could be wrong?

It looks good. You did a nice job with it. There are a number of route builders that have used backdrops quite effectively...roymac for one. If you browse around, you may find some screenshots from their routes...

Just finished teaching my last class for the semester...it's playtime now...:)

Marias Pass V2.0

Hi there.

I've been reworking josefpav's Marias Pass Approach in TS2010. Mainly replacing the signals with the Safetran C-Lights from JointedRail, and the grade crossings with BNSF50's ATLS-style ones. So far it's going well, and here are some pictures from a little train-chasing...

We begin our trip at Ethridge crossing, with a BNSF container at close to maximum speed. This one is lead by B-40W #508 and 507 and ES44AC #5732.

Between the tracks at the signals. (Now, don't everybody jump on me for OH&S reasons, I know what I'm doing!:hehe: )

Riding the embankment.

Coasting downgrade just outside Cutbank, preparing for a halt.

Idling in Cutbank yard, coffee time. ;)

Standing on Cutbank platform, Amtrak arrives... late as usual.

Hope you all enjoyed that. Looking forward to TS2012 when that crossing pass is going to sound a whole lot sweeter... all hail Doppler!

Happy Trainzing from Down Under,;)
Scott.
