USA Pics

why is it when someone sees something they disagree with its photoshopped..

cmon everyone knows graffiti 'artists' can stick to anything. just take a look around a city sometime.

Thanks Matt :)

OT on the graffiti thing - there is a cage ladder right up the column in the centre of all that 'art' - I reckon it is real. the only bit raises a question mark with me is the "Tank', 'BK' and 'K252' tags which are over a raised bit of trim. I still reckon they are real tho....

Sorry if I shouldn't be quoting the screenie (I know some people don't like that) but I was wondering were I can find the tracks or route or are they still in beta? They look great. Sorry If people have asked this before.

It's my track, UP 132lb US Concrete_MRT. and it is on the DLS and at USLW. It is a mesh reducing track, ie two levels of LOD, but unfortunately Trainz renders the lower poly bits differently depending on the angle you view them in Trainz, so the color match between the high and low poly bits can't be maintained. It is not so apparent with dark colored track, but with this light colored track it shows up quite a bit. (Anybody know how to vary the transition distance?)

A suggestion/wish. While viewing these great pictures I often would like to know the names of the routes that the screenies were taken on. I'm seeing many fine looking routes out there but don't know their names. Thanks.

Yes i agree although my computer doesn't allow me to post pictures (i don't know how since i've been here and i an not that good with computers). and my trains06 doesn't work until i fix a new computer and install it.

i would also like to know if we can start another USA picture thread because we now have 316 or so and i think it slows down my computer, but i am fine the way it is if we don't. Great pics by the way.

Granted, here's two more from Coal County. :)

Norfolkwesternman, some good picture hosting services are Photobucket and Photoshop. These are free and have a user-friendly interface with quick uploads most of the time.
This thread shows you how to link the pics to the forum.

Cheerio,
Nicholas.

Ahh love the pictures I see you edited the route a little bit huh? May I ask why out of curiosity? Missing depends? or just to cut down on the polys?

Hello Gandalf, yes, I have 2 missing assets and as you hadn't answered my request by last night, I ignored them and ran the route as it was, I still don't even know what the 2 items are, but, it didn't seem to affect the performance anyway by chance.... No, the reason I moved the assets around was purely aesthetic for the screenshots, it's all about personal preference as well, which is what this game is all about.....:)
Having talked to Bill (slave-driver) earlier in the week, it reminded me that I had downloaded his lowboy 9 axle low loader trailer off the DLS recently and wanted to see what it looked like in a screenshot, as I'm fond of your 18 wheelers and big rigs over there, so I decided to exchange it for the semi that you had placed there.
I also manoevered the police car around so I could get the loco, the cop car and the cocktail bar neon sign in the same screenshot, I also moved a couple of vehicles from the road to give the train an incident free run down the middle of the street without hitting anything, it gave an unhindered shot of the train as it passes Applebees, and how it got past that fire truck ladder without scratching the paintwork is a wonder in itself.....:hehe:
I also twizzled a few trees around to give a full-on view of them, ensured all the baseboards were fully textured, which I do as a matter of course with every layout I download, mixed and matched trees and hedges, grasses and other vegetaton if required, add the odd accessory if I think it enhances the area I'm screenshooting, not necessary on this route really, and that's about it.
It's a very small, compact layout, superbly textured, as your layouts usually are young man, and was easy to capture on film, well, on my computer, but, you know what I mean....
Us screenshooters do a lot of background work to promote layouts created by you super route artists you know, it's not as plain sailing as you might think it is......:hehe::hehe::hehe::hehe:

Looking forward to your next project anyway Gandalf.

Hi Gandalf,

Hmmm, I posted my request on the other answer to this thread on Tuesday night I think it was, don't worry anyway, it's only 2 missing assets, and as stated, they didn't affect the operation of any trains as such.
I appreciate your e-mail issue, one has to be careful these days and I generally PM fellow Trainzers when needs arise.
I won't change too much on your little route as you did an excellent job of it in the first place, I might move a few vehicles around to suit my needs but that's about all.

Talk to ya soon.

Train 2CPWNA99 (UP 8176) passes CLLBT08 (UP 9706) on Camas Prarie. Both trains are in route to the vast Wyoming Coal Fields of North Antelope and Black Thunder Mines.

Heya Max, nice screenshots there! Is that based on the Powder River route by chance? If so are you doing the whole route per DEM and to scale? Just curious and keep those screenshots coming.

:)

Currently my PRB route is in the very, very early stages of building. That shot was on Camas Prarie for now. I have many pictures from the PRB on the Orin Sub and so on. I'am making the Camas Route larger with more Coal Mines.
