@ Dietrich, take all the time you need. I'm glad to see that I've learned from other's mistakes. :hehe: I have a lot of Mr. Drake's stuff, but that particular item doesn't ring a bell...

@ Bill, sounds great. I really like that scheme so it'll be great to have a loco in that scheme (I don't think there are ANY with it in TRS unfortunately).

Keep up the great shots all!

Alarmed at the high price of diesel, TG industries is testing out steam turbine locomotives. These revolutionary locomotives are powered by sawdust fed by a blower into the firebox.

What do you think?

In the days when the brakes on each car had to be set by hand, I believe they were used to warn anyone on top of the train that a tunnel or low bridge was coming up. or even to warn the engineer if the upcoming obstacle was too low for his train.

Transitguard has it right on, at least as far as brakemen were concerned. The set up is called a telltail, and many of them lasted well into the 1950's and beyond, even though brakemen had long since stopped doing manual braking. The one in the picture was modeled after a Bangor & Aroostook telltail photographed in the 50's.

Ah, that makes sense, especially considering there's a bridge right there. I'd hate to see what would happen to the poor brakeman if he stayed up there...

beautiful pics. Sorry about going off topic but the Bangor & Aroostook was mentioned. Does anyone know where i can find any Bangor & Aroostook for 04. (i worked on the ex-Bangor & Aroostook BL2 engine 54 over the summer) They are one of my favorite east coast railroads.

To put it back on topic Here is a real live pic of the BL2 and two pics of the crash that engine 54 had to be repaired from back in 1979. This is why the engine has some things rearranged (like the front ladder is on the wrong side) We know that it was in a second accident but we cant find any thing about it. It truely is a beautiful engine.

What happened was a logging truck lost brakes going down the hill and the driver ditched. The truck ran into the side of engine 54. As you can see the damage was pretty extensive. If you look closely at the side of the engine you can see a rippling of the damaged side.

Sabertooth, just look up a few posts.
They're available as betas, but I wouldn't download them until the full versions because people are still pointing out errors and stuff.

Someone say #90?
