A trio of E units lead the LE&E's Midnight Limited on its last few miles into Boston during the spring of 1949. Pacing US 20 along the outskirts of the city, the train crosses over the Sudbury River in Wayland.

A few miles later, the streamliner passes the LE&E's Watertown yard, and crosses the B&M's Watertown branch and Pleasant Street before passing over the Charles River and entering Brighton. The train will pause at Newton to disembark passengers before its late-afternoon arrival at Boston's South Station.
