this thread also becomes a place for people to show off their Photoshop skills to make more realistic looking screenshots

Crossing over Evercane Road outside of Clewiston, is the USSC Bryant Turn, which heads from Bryant - Clewiston with approximately 40 cars of sugarcane each time. GP40-2 #503 is leader of this train. 1 of 6 GP40-2's that USSC owns.

I'm more than likely going to re-do the GP40 because I'm having issues with the numberboards. I'll add the LED lights on later when I feel happy with the skin.
Wouldn't that be Sugar Beets ? As when you pick up a packet of Sugar, if it don't say "Pure Cane Sugar" in writing ... for sure it is made from "sugar beets" (as what those SP sugar beet cars are intended to transport)

I learnt' this from the Mr Rogers TV show

You are 100% right. The reason why I'm using them is the lack of 1,100 sugarcane cars for USSC. I completely understand why too. Its not like these guys are very widely known, let alone car diagrams, etc.

Anyhow, here's a picture of the Ft. Pierce turn coming through North Belle Glade.

I was surprised to find that beet juice is now being used to combat ice on streets. Apparently, rock salt has been in short supply in some areas, and is not as effective as beets and salt working together.

I haven't heard yet whether or not the railroad industry is applying beet juice to rails for added traction...

Glad to see you are back Deadpoolmx55.....and with your amazing shot, you raised the level before leaving and you kept it super high ! Superb shot also WillsWestCoastTrainz.

This is a continuation of my post from a few months ago.

The Norfolk and Western enters Ashford by way of the Ashford Branch. The railroad follows the East Branch of the Monokakon River, until it reaches Confluence (CF) tower. The first shot is of a freight with Run-Through BN power, outside the Ashford Steel and Scrap Facilities.

Our next photo of the freight is from along the Ashford Connecting Railroad, a holding company formed jointly by the B&O, PRR, and N&W railroads in order to provide service through the city with one rail line, instead of the separate lines once used. Most B&O traffic now uses the AM&E in order to bypass the clogged artery into downtown, but they still maintain one of the tracks through downtown, in order to interchange with Conrail and the N&W.

Our Final shot of the N&W freight is from Downtown Ashford. Ashford Yard (AY) Interlocking is located in the background. The Ashford Connecting Railroad continues to the left, whilst Ashford Yard begins to the Right. Ashford Yard used to be a large yard, but with the Penn Central abandoning the PRR Branch to Derringer, 15 Miles East, and the B&O's decision to use the AM&E, the N&W became the main benefactor of the yard. A small Engine House, Refueling Facilities, and a few yard/interchange tracks are all that are left.

An SD9, leading a cut of coil cars out of Ashford Yard, is spotted in The Trench, where the Monokakon River and Ashford Connecting Railroad run alongside each other through downtown. The SD9 will set these cars off at Ashford Steel and Scrap to the East.

Hours Later, a N&W GP35/GP40 combo from Ashford Yard is seen with a few of the BN cars from the earlier train. It is seen running opposite Sulzer, downriver from Ashford, serving warehouses on an industrial spur.

Their Work complete, both locomotives run light back to Ashford Yard. They are seen passing Sulzer Station, on the Ex-PRR Sulzer Branch. When Conrail was formed, the Branch was passed to the N&W, per ICC orders. The beginning of the Sulzer Branch, behind the photographer, also marks the end of the Ashford Connecting Railway. The B&O breaks off on their Old Main Line shortly before, at Derringer-Sulzer (DS) Tower.

As a special treat for enthusiasts, 4501 was tasked with hauling a log train from Vernon to West Clyde logging siding. The day started with assembling the train at Vernon, and then saw it run down through the valley to West Clyde. Unfortunately, after arrival, the track spread under a couple of the bulkhead wagons.

I wish N3V would fix this:

!
I'm surprised that the vehicle "derailment" doesn't end the session!

I found this quite distracting last night: While trying to back a train across a road into a siding, cars kept running right through my train without even slowing down. I suppose it's a hard choice between crossing guards with massive car wrecks, or no crossing guards with cars running through your train with impunity!
