i use a "guide" track...and work around that...most of the tutorials i found online confused me more than they helped

I'm no expert at laying track or yards and I was going to suggest this site:

But I don't see a specific section on laying yard ladders. The best way I'd describe it is to make the outside ladder first, then experiment with one yard track and join it where the curve looks realistic. I could have sworn someone made a tutorial about how to do that, but I can't remember where or who. @@
