Sorry for double posts, but a few random pictures I took off the scenery. Some old 36in gauge cars lying around, the line has been long abandoned.

Passing some old abandoned industry in Beaufort, SC. I wish there some trees with Spanish moss.

This lumber / building center never existed in Beaufort, but I added it as one of a few things "free-lanced" to increase some route traffic.

Hopefully before the end of the year. I was looking at Christmas, but many things have slowed me down. It is progressing... just doing the trees and houses and cotton / farm fields of the low country. The track is done.

It'll cover around 25 direct track miles from Yemassee, SC to Port Royal, SC. Lots of marshes, swamps, forest and scattered cotton plantations and farms. All former C&WC, ACL, SCL, SBD, and now CSX lines. The Port Royal branch south and east from Yemassee is now abandoned and a bike trail. It was tore up after 2006. There is additional lines between three portals: Augusta, Ga; Charleston, SC; and Savannah, GA. Also a yard in Yemassee and Port Royal. There will be a thread posted on the Freeware Forums when it is ready. I used a 1978 track chart and lots of Google Earth and topo maps for the route. Elevations and tracks are real accurate. No DEM. The highest elevation is 26m so a DEM was not really needed, I just used GE for elevations for roads and track. There is also a short branch from Coosaw, SC to Lobeco, SC for a Chemical plant and small fertilizer drop off.

Thanks for the complements...

Two Coal-powered trains pick up two GP30's to go into patching

The trains head to the paintshop

A railfan snaps a quick pic of a train in his friend's VW

they appear to be JR's

YUP... some of JR's content it is... I have grabbed some of their stuff that is freeware and incorporated it into this route. I am trying to keep it from sites that have been more involved in Trainz long term with web pages. So much non-DLS content on private sites are gone in a few months. That does not mean I may make a loading ramp or two like that in the future and put it up on the DLS as a replacement, until then that is what I have. One can only spend so much time on route building, reskinning, content creations, and other things after working 72 hours a week and then raising a family in the High Plains of Michigan's Thumb. More times than not life happens and Trainz gets sidelined. Once this route is done, the GTW Mt. Clemens Sub route with get the rest of the track work in. Then I will see how it looks in TANE... right now nothing seems to be working as a TS12 basic route and importing it. Much of my ground textures are faulty. I think they all require an alpha channel or something. Thanks for the complements on the screen capture... I wasn't done with out the talents of many content creators... my hats off to them!

Dan
