I had already thought of this, but this sort of editing is beyond my understanding. It would make a nice little "bonus" in-game though.The only other water cars I know are the UP Aux Tenders (Though I dont remember who did those), or a few "Cylinder Tank on Flat Car" type. The one from K&L comes in a black undec. version at least and has detail galore.
The issue with Water cars is that of the excursion variety they're almost exclusively Re-purposed locomotive Tenders, and few modelers here have built any of such description. Even K&L's was originally another Locomotives Tender (I believe a C&O loco no less, though don't quote me on that, I might be misremembering that). The UP Auxiliary tenders are almost entirely former Oil Turbine Tenders. If someone could take one of Bdaneals USRA Tenders (the 2-8-2 Mikado's for instance would be good one, though for the one you have a pic something smaller) and just added Panel over the coal tub, removed the paint/lettering, and added a couple extra hoses off the front, you'd have a perfect stand in....
