seems to be some discrepancies with the history of W.C.

Different companies, same name.

William :)

There you go, he's talking about this one;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wisconsin_Central_Ltd.

Which is what I originally thought, whoever told me my original thought was wrong was apparently talking about the other one.

WCL...
That brings back some fond memories for sure.
I can still remember being young, pacing two IC SD40-2's and a WC SD45 down US 45 from Arcola to Mattoon, Illinois. The sound of two 16 cylinder 645's and a 20 cylinder 645 throbbing at full bore accelerating from a 40mph zone to a 55 with nearly 10,000 feet of train behind. Nathan P5 airhorn blaring on the lead IC unit...
Can't find that stuff on YouTube hardly, but the memories will never leave me.

Cheers,
Woody

Thats why I made the WC Shotz topic to relive all the GREAT memories WC did have and to be able to see the beautiful locomotives once again :Y:

some pics from Mayhill & Winchester, Maine
Mayhill is where the Thompson Creek & Eastern and Maine Central Interchange, it still has one of the only old style B&M MEC ball signals. When the signal is to the right MEC trains have clearance and the Left for TC&E Trains to have clearance.

The McCloud Railroad is no longer, but steam is coming back to McCloud via Trainz.
