Oh, So steamy! Double header on the Tourist Line
The Greater Missouri Steam Locomotive Association Decided to fire up both their NH 2-6-0 (No. 201) and their MKT 2-8-0 (No. 628) for this weekend's fall spectacular over both their line and the St. Joseph & Kansas City Southern (which they own anyway, or at least their Chairman Mr. Regensberg does :hehe: )

A very brave (and possibly slightly suicidal) railfan hung down from 628's cab to get this amazing shot.

Passing the St.J&KCS local
Kinda adds a new element of danger to taking the trash out, doesn't it?
I don't know about you, but I'd kill for this to be the view off my front porch.
Waiting on permission to enter the mainline.

A lot has changed in the past decade. The railroad bed is now a bike trail, the gas station is an ice cream place, and the hopper and signal are now display pieces.

Today we are set up in the lower part of Wisconsin where we catch some action going on.....
Our first train we catch is to be a train heading for Wal Mart with these CN boxcars
We then tried to get a lil closer to the locos but the sign kept us from getting any closer, so we had to wait
We then headed to the other side of the tracks to get some good shots
A CEFX double stack was due to come into town to take these to the yard
Amtrak #7 also made a quick appearance
The CEFX double stack train slowly made its way down to the container yard on the other side of town
After he was in the clear, the CN switchers came on thru following right behind him
He then made a run-a-round move to get facing the other way to back down the Wal Mart spur
Shoving cars into the spur
Spotting the boxcars at the dock
