USA Pics

From time to time I'll set up a scene just for the purpose of taking screen shots. While the scene may look deep, it's only about 20 squares deep.
Here we're looking down the street.

Intermodal Train with Joe's cars. These things rock

@rbar_164 & scratchy
the textures are indeed dark
but i still love the model
i plan to re do the skins anyways
but i will talk to adam about that

@anyone who commented on the dark textures on the narrow gauge locos

My gamma is normally set on either 1.25 or 1.50, so my content all tends to look dark with it set at 1.00. I prefer a simulation of a sunny day to look like a sunny day, so I turn up my gamma.

For a comparison, this is how the same unit looks on my machine (keep in mind as well this is the shaded side):

That is not how you set gamma, you set it so that shadows just have detail, this is what I have seen in all games that have a gamma setting.

Just something to be thought about from my side.

The narrow-loco looks great!!

Unfortunately even a very nice content will earn some friendly critics if it goes too far away in appearance to everything else.
Does not content creators should use some brightness setup values so that the content appears well within all the other content? If it is necessary to change the setup of a whole route to get a “undark” loco, how looks all the other content at the same route?

In one hand is it a little wonder that route builders puts so many content from many different creators together getting a route which looks great over all and everything goes hand in hand with its environment. In the other hand the many content made by many creators fits because most of the creators are considering some little things making the content going hand in hand later at a route.

I believe a problem with increasing the gamma is that it affects both daytime and nighttime. Nighttime in Trainz is already not dark enough. There really needs to be seperate gamma sliders for day and night, so that we can choose to have brighter days and/or darker nights.

Regards,

Zachary.

All you have to do is turn down the ambient and sky colors for night in your route, (which usually needs done anyway) and you're fine. This shot is taken with gamma at 1.50:

I'd need specific kuids to help you out. An email to our support address will get you the quickest response rather than the forums. We check our email way more often than many forum threads. Thanks.

Your missing files that are contained within the packs when you purchased them. I would suggest reinstalling those packs and these dependencies will be in there. All of the 45324 kuids are trucks which are definitely packed in the original CDPs when you bought them.

I will need order numbers to help you further and like i suggested before please send us an email as opposed to posting in this thread.
