A Day On Soldier Summit

Great shots all!

Another day at Soldier Summit. SP's DVROM is pictured at Kyune, UT.

Colton, UT.

SP tested some SD70MAC's in coal service. Units 9497 and 9490 sits at Soldier Summit, having just dropped off its mid- train helpers. (WIP aeria)

Ahem. Well this is a easbound loaded coal train at MP643.5. I just had to take the train back down again to test JR's new MAC's

Thank you. The first four shots of the Rio Grande unit train were inspired by the New Mexico/Colorado Raton area. The first two shots of the ATSF unit train is an actual area near Ash Fork Arizona. And the last four shots are bits n pieces of the Gallup sub. Thank you everyone for the kind words.

CSX ideals at Cumberland Tipple where it will start the long night load out in an hour. Just in front of the unit is the highway through the valley which causes Cumberland Tipple to load out twice a month and at night when traffic is at its lightest.

Crews will cut the train in two with units on both ends to allow for clearing the crossing if an emergency should arise.

Cumberland’s neighbors aren’t happy during loading nights. ​
