hmm, those are interesting...I suspect they were a WIP that never saw the light of day. shame, they looked nice, and more AT&SF from that era would be great...still waiting for a good RSD-15 to make an alligator from.


Actually the Bluebonnets are correct, for the late 60's and on through the 70's, they were basically old passenger engines that were repainted for freight service, the stainless steel side panels were horrible for holding paint, so they left those as they were, thats why they look like blue warbonnets, ATSF also had a few that were done up in yellow the same way.
 
just curious. They looked like JR engines, and i sat here trying to figure out if the F40PH was the old one or the JR one. Forgive me, i usually spend my time trying to figure out pointless things:o
