@joe, is the cross to mark all the workers deaths or was there a runaway at one time?

Known as "The Cross at the Loop", it is in memory of two Southern Pacific employees who were killed in a train derailment on May 12, 1989 in San Bernardino, California.

and don't call me Joe...

Otherwise known as the Duffy Street Incident...

the Double Disaster at Duffy street was a seperate incident. That appears to be where a freight jumped the track at Sullivan's Curve. Duffy street was at the bottom of the hill, down in San Bernadino itself. (though someone correct me if i'm wrong?)

ah...I see now...man, makes me quiver at the thought of that wreck. That was one of the first train wrecks i ever learned about. I knew enough to know what the weight of an average train was and i still shiver at the the thought of 8000 tons of trona barreling off the curve and into an unsuspecting neighborhood. ughgugh, i'm, shivering now.

may god rest their souls, and the last train to heaven wait for them.

I had just arrived into town by stagecoach and saw a large crowd gathered by a colorful coach on track two with a man, neatly dressed, giving a speech. And this is what I saw:

The President of the United States of America, running for reelection. The speech: Commending railroad workers for all their hard work serving this country. He must have planned this speech just for our city because every man in this town has a job with the railroad. Unless you exclude Bill who runs the Saloon, general store, and hotel.

This is a reskin of Colorado71's Strasburg coach, reskinned with permission. Soon to be found on his site.

Train Q197, the fictional Jax to Miami intermodal train. The Miami Sub may be slated to run intermodal in the not too distant future, here's a what if! I also posted a video which the link is on each individual image, by clicking on it. "HTML is fun!"

Nice screen shoot but we need to remember that as per the fourm COC screen shots should be no larger than 800X600 pixels unless in a screenshot fourm with a hi res image warning

thanks
Dave

This is a screenshot thread, with many (if not all) images larger than 800x600. :o

Great shots Dan (Leadfoot), those AWVR units look real sharp. :D

Keep it up with those units Alex.

I know thats why I pointed out the fact that they were over size - is it better to get a polite warning from another user or for a mod to come along and close the thread - since there is no warning in the tiltle of this thread it would be assumed that all images would be no large than 800 X 600

  1. Screen shots posted to the Trainz Community Discussion Forums should be in .jpg format and not exceed a maximum resolution of 800 pixels wide x 600 pixels high*. Any screen shots that exceed this limit will be modified to links or removed from the post altogether.
*The only exception to this is within the Screenshot forum. Screen shots posted to the Screenshot forum should be in .jpg format and not exceed a maximum resolution of 1600 pixels wide x 1200 pixels high, however, if your screen shot exceeds 800x600 you are required to include the maximum resolution used in the title of the thread.

Theres 715 pages of "oversize" images. AFAIK, No one mod has said anything yet. So your CoC preaching is being wasted here, why not go hunt down all the oversize banner children and scold them instead. :o

This thread, along with a number of others, is a continuation of a thread from before the Great Crash, and was begun very shortly after this forum came back online. It was started, therefore, before the warning stipulation had been included in the greatly reverred CoC. Thus, there is no warning in the thread title. Since the first page, however, there have always been screenshots greater than 800 x 600 in this thread. Everyone knows that...except for a few rules lawyers apparently. :D

Cheers,
Fred
