Briceville has the largest concentration on mines in the Dutchvalley Subdivision.

Some mines have long closed and oil companies now pump oil or coal bed methane, making it a useful location once more.

When a prime unit went down, the yard unit was sent out on the road.

It doesn’t matter what pulls it or where; on the Volunteer it is all about Coal. ​

Thanks guys. The shot is off East Kentucky v3 (still a WIP) taken at the west end of the Buckeye Branch wye. IIRC about 30 miles of main line plus about the same again made up of several meandering coal branches...
