Here's some of a WIP, using Fishlips' Terrain, it's the one and only Pacific Surfliner, which I've actually gone really far with. All the way from LAUPT to San Juan Capistrano. Trackwork was already done from LA to SD, but I replaced it and I've replaced the builtin signals with justin's Safetrans and searchlights.

Like the rest of the route, it was dreamed up. The resemblance is coincidental. :)

Adam, I see lots of "TER" potential here. One thing to note, I don't think the steel trestle should be submerged (rust and maintenance, concrete piers are a better idea).

Justin, may I know where the track can be obtained, as well as those on the Jointedrail screenshot gallery that look like ScaleRail?

the track in that screenshot is VMD track from Donner Pass route, i cannot redistribute it. the track in the screenshots at jointedrail is my own, and is not released yet.

This is off an old route that I have long abandoned but still sits on the HDD not yet deleted as it still gives inspiration for color and such which I am still experimenting with...god knows if I will ever come up with something that is computer friendly but still highly prototypical. :o

It is sweet looking though. I am not sure which one of the two I like better to tell you the truth. The Blackhawk one looks beastly with those triaxles, but it probably wouldn't do to well in a switching roll.
 
what makes you say that? its perfect. light on track but great for low speed drags. like i told Ryan, its like the SDL39. notice i dont need a slug ;)
 
Triaxles spread the gauge. Just ask the R&N whenever they drop a switcher because they decided to use one of their SDs to switch the day before.

It just causes more track maintainance. Though, I understand the Triaxles since that thing is so light, it probably helps with the tractive effort.

Essencially, yours has more power at the expense of causing the necessity of more track maintainance.

Though you are in the mid west, and I am basing it off of twisty Appalachian railroads, so I could be wrong.
 
Hey George, the FT is still called the FT, as for the meaning of the T? Well, your guess is as good as mine!!!:wave: :wave: :wave:

It's my understanding that the "T" stood for "Two thousand seven hundred." The idea being that each FT A & B unit were meant to be permanently coupled, and each produced 1350 hp.

Thus, one A and one B == 2700 hp.
