Washington DC has hills in the surrounding area. That doesn't look like it is smack dab in the middle of DC. Fallout3 is pretty accurate in how the terrain looks there.

Thanks Epo. It is the only one I have seen that has the wooded cross ties above the ballast. All the rest of the track in my assets looks like an image: Flat!!

I live like right outside of D.C. and I go there every weekend. And I know by Union Station there are not hills like that. Riding the head end on a MARC from Balt to DC I can tell u that on the appraoc it is actually up on a 1 level emankment with flat land around with new glass buildings going up (one more this year is slated to start constrcuction) and on the other side are some ware houses. One of which is an ex-concert hall and is where the Beatles first played in the U.S. and is now a recycling plant with bulldozers moving around recycleables on the inside.

Yes, apart from the crappy vehicles in the background, that shot is stunning. I don't know what I like more, the track, the loco or the flowers and grass poking so realistically through the ballast.

I have making some shots from area around my washingtondc-terminal ,so we can see that no Hills around.
This area is to big for many details with grass ,a lot of small things and others . All tracks are under wire and with trains I want a good Performence.
I have started this Layout with TRS2004 and now I have it install in TRS2007 , it's a lot of work to delete old things from TRS2004.When I have time I will making the correct Stationbuilding of WashingtonDC.

Just as a heads up the signalling in that area is ex-b&o signals not prr signals. I belive seniorcheif made some and they're on the DLS.
