Derrmy, may I ask about those amazing looking hoppers in your shot?

They are an old skin of mine on the RRMods H62R hopper, chessie system pack on the DLS here.

Very nice looking coal hopper paint jobs there Andy. Wow, awesome that you had three real life shots and one Trainz shot thrown in there, but shouldn't it have been the other way around?

:hehe:

I know, just a comment on how realistic they look! Well done.

Also @Gandalf, nice summertime screenshot there. I like the firetruck being used to fill the pool. lol

I was invited this weekend to look over Gandalf's TRS2006 SP1 layout named Shoreline East from his website.
After taking lots of screenshots, I can now show you what a great job he has done of it. Unfortunately, I can only put 10 up, but, it gives a a rough idea of what it's like.
Now, first things first.....For those of you who want to download this route - BEWARE - it is very high poly, in fact, it is really only favourable for high-end computers...
As you can see Mike has included the super high detailed tracks recently created by George Fisher as they bank suitably apparently for the electric trains that run on this little route to New Haven.
As well as the tracks, it is electrified throughout, has a medium sized yard and lots of spline bridges and roads, so very high detail.....
I would also like to draw your attention to Conny Lubings wonderful fleet of Amtrak/MARC bilevel and single level coaching stock and lovely electric locomotives, which are absolutely perfect for this type of layout.
It is not 100% complete or textured, on Gandalf's own admission, but, you can finish the job off to your own personal satisfaction, no doubt....
The parts that have been attended to, Mike has done a great job with the trees, grasses and textures, and he also included night time lit buildings so you can run trains in the dark....

Have fun.

They look even better when other people take shots:D The route itself is still in beta, and is far from complete. I have been moving along slowly on it. Still have a mere several hundred miles left to recreate:hehe: But it really isn't all that long compared to other routes made by various people in length. It is just getting it built is the hard part...

Yes, quite correct, the CSX C40-8 YN2 pack from USLW, this is the dirty one, probably why it didn't show up very well in the dark.....:hehe:

A mid-afternoon ATSF Q-Train led by ATSF SD40-2s #5107 and #5113 passes us near Hereford, LA on September, 20th, 1979.

We followed it to Saxon Lake junction and caught him on the KCS Montrose Sub. We think he's heading to Shreverport, LA and then eventually on to San Bernardino, CA but our old Chevy is low on gas so we don't quite know sure.
:p
