The three engines were also fitted with roller bearings, and because of such, were used on mail and express trains in addition to the usual fast freight assignments.

The CRB must have a lot of excess workers. With that plate welded over the hood doors they have to lift the hood off to get to the prime mover.

It looks like he just forgot to redraw the lines, you can see the handles in the "patch".
