The summer / winter variations are excellent.

One of the very few features that was in Microsoft Train Simulator that I miss in Trainz is the seasonal variations. Each MSTS asset had four textures corresponding to the four seasons of the year. So by changing the date setting it was possible to run a route in winter, spring, summer or fall.
