USA Pics

I saw a video on this today and decided to make a scene of it. To get rid of subway cars deemed useless, they recycle them by dumping them in the ocean as an artificial reef.

I recently found this photo in my shoebox of photos. I was in the town of Redcreek and I heard the haunting sound of a diesel blowing its horn. I looked up the tracks and saw a pair of ex-ATSF geeps heading down the tracks towards the crossings. I quickly whipped out my camera and got close to the crossing and snapped this pic. The train was crawling at around 10 miles per hour due to the bad weather.

I then snapped this picture.

nah, throwing them into the ocean is more fun. Think about it. Would you rather wash a smelly, probably urine soaked subway car so you can get rid of something that might, by the process of getting rid of it, give you cancer, or have the fun of throwing them into the ocean with some heavy equipment. The only thing that would be more fun would be launching them off of a ramp into the ocean.:hehe:

So im not the only one who sees people urinating in subway cars then? Wait what?:hehe::eek:

Well I think its time we stop talking about urine soaked asbestos and get back to the USA pics. I'm to tired to tell a story so I'm just going to post pics and descriptions.

The focus of today is a Rio Grande SW1500 heading to the DSFI warehouse in Redcreek during a blizzard.

The first pic is of the switcher moving through a farmers field.

After about a mile and a half, Redcreek comes into view. In the backround you can see the towns stripmall. You can also see a ATSF train waiting at the grain elevator. The elevator is shut down for the winter, but holds a surplus of grain incase or emergency.

The switcher passes between a couple of ATSF geeps pulling a mixed freight, and a cut of grain hoppers left at the grain elevator.

Here is a pic of the mixed freight crawling through the center of town.

The next two shots are of the switcher passing the mixed freight.

The switcher passes the old water tower.

The engine finally arrives at the DSFI warehouse and hooks up to the cut of three filled boxcars. The warehouse fills 3 boxcars a week of various goods.

Interesting Isaac, sounds like a Mexican road, Am I right? Nikos did a few Mexican railroads, forgot what site they were on. Anyways if you need American freight cars for Burlington Nortonsdale San Fierro that are not default look on USLW.net and RRmods.com (04 section) and DLS, tons available.
