Road stuff

Hallo,

here some screens about my „Seasonal Trucks for my seasonal Routes“ project.

Just because there are no seasonal trucks and trailers available jet, I decided to create some.
Well I guess there is no other choice if I want to reach full seasonal support at my routes

The screens indicates the first beta-result of a 50’s Kenworth Truck pulling a 50’s Fruehauf Trailer.
A scene which could probably often be seen in the USA.

The truck still needs attention as I need to introduce LOD into the asset because it eventually reached up over 3000 polygons while the textures size could be kept to 1024x1024.
Also the wheels still needs normal maps on it. It looks a bit "flat" now.
After that I will work out several different truck versions wearing different colors – I choses grey just for the creation steps.

The trailer wears a 512x512 texture and is close to its final version. I will create different color versions form that trailer too – here you can see the stainless steel version.

Eventually we will have both truck and trailer as scenery assets and as drivable road assets for those who wants to operate trucks – perhaps as “AI-Trucks” to create some automated action beside the tracks.

My focus will be to create logging trucks and trailers for the seasonal update of my Milwaukee Road Avery-Drexel Route I am working on.

But I could not hold me back to create a semi truck and such a trailer as well :)

Where is that awesome PRR Horseshoe Curve route from? I'm currently compiling a list of routes that I'm installing into Trainz 2010 once I order it. If someone could point me in the right direction I'd be appreciative of it.

Your truck looks great. Make sure you make a beer trailer. Need a good skin, use this picture. If you like a larger pic, PM me and I can send one out.

Recently I decided to declare my self totally insane. I did this by deciding to a complete ground up rebuild of my CSX Florence Division route located in Columbia SC. When complete the route will have 198 route miles and go from Sumter SC to Savannah Ga via Cayce SC. Here's just a few shots from progress so far.
Cayce Yard

The south end of the Cayce yard. This train will soon make a trip to Carolina Eastman (Eastman Kodak)

Located in Cayce SC is the world headquarters for Harsco Rail (Fairmont Tamper) this is on the NS Edmund Spur.

With 4 yard on site and over 20 loading points Carolina Eastman could be a route of it's own. The lead off CSX is 2.2 miles long. A few shots here and there just doesn't do this plant any justice. So here is zoomed out shot and the entire plant is not in view.

Nice kit-bashing, and industries. What type of chemical industry is Carolina Eastman?
