What happens when you start up a new commuter rail operation? You borrow equipment and buy used. A MetroLink commuter rail train, led by MetroLink (ex-Amtrak) 107 pulling ex-NJT Comet I coaches pulls into the new Hampton Ave Commuter station in central St. Louis while an eastbound MoPac autorack waits for a clear into Grand Interlocking. An inbound MetroLink lets passengers board on the recently completed track 3 on the Jeff City Cub.

Still plenty of work to do.
