... <snippage> ... Being old is not a fault ... <snippage> ...
In and of itself, we agree. But being old does not exclude faults, either. I know, my daugher's mother used to tell me so regularly, and she was never wrong.
... <snippage> ... Assets with .pm were not faults until such time as N3V changed the game engine. ... <snippage> ...
In the interest of accuracy here, the ~.PM meshes were deprecated when I came to the simulator with TRS 2006, and N3V superseding Auran was after that. This cannot be placed at N3V's feet, unless the exact same people were involved in the exact same roles.
... <snippage> ... Will they next be saying that assets which are in a language other than english are faulty[?]. ... <snippage> ...
I don't woirk for N3V, and am not privy to their in-house discussions, but given the new content from China, I don't think so. I fully expect that any current language will continue to be supported as long as their are users for whom those languages are the native tongue.
... <snippage> ... I note that you find your key for peace does not fit the locks because they are been changed, The same thing is happen to trainz every time some one in N3V get a bulb going off in his head. ... <snippage> ...
I'm not sure I agree with your analysis about why things change, nor with your assessment about where the responsibility lies. While newer hardware allows older version so fthe sim to run faster than ever before, the older versions do not allow users to take advantage of newer features of the hardware. I suspect that if the younger generation only had early versions of the game available, would quickly find, if not another railroad sim, at least another interest.
[QUOTEAs for the fiddle. The fiddle I quoted is mine and its still plays a good tune, so my wife tells me.[/QUOTE]
And while I might disagree with you, I know better than to disagree with her.
