Updating Content and Build Number

Getting Older :)
Hi,

I am repairing content as part of the DLS Cleanup and 2 items requiring repair have a build of 3.3.

Once I repair the content and give it the next kuid version number can I then have a build number of 2.7 ??????

Many thanks,

Craig

If build 2.7 supports all of the features of the content, then I would have thought so. Are these assets that have already been "corrected" once?

Just be careful, as there are quite a few differences in requirements for the config file, especially for splines, but I guess you probably know that...

Thanks Paul,

Yes they have been corrected previously and they are splines. The correction "attempted" was not correct but I have them working correctly with a build of 2.7 in 2009.

I am just curious how this will go when the previous corrected version has a build of 3.3.

As you would guess a build of 2.7 allows more people to use the content.

I think I will go with a build of 2.7 and upload the items separately and see how they go.

Absolutely - the build 3.3 update would have shut a lot of TC users out from the update in any case. Having looked through the configs of some of these "fixed" splines, it appears that the "fixers" simply opened the asset in CCP and removed all the tags that it didn't like. Many of these updates wouldn't work in any version of Trainz, as they have no reference to the mesh whatsoever.

It's good to see that these are being addressed again. Some of my favourite fences fell prey to this issue...

Hi Paul and anyone else,

The 2 items I have talked about in this thread are now on the DLS with a Build of 2.7 while the previous version has a Build of 3.3.

So this change does work (and they show in Surveyor) which may help with other updated content that is faulty and has a build of 3.3.

Changing the Build back to 2.7 allows more people to use it.
