UP Trancontinental Railroad. Ogden,UT to Greenriver, WY.

I decided to re-start this build thread In the proper section. This thread is my screen shots of my build progress. I am new to trainz and still learning. This is the first route I have attempted to build so please bear with me. Tip's, pointers, suggestions, ideas and constructive criticism is kindly welcomed. I ask that there is no fighting of any kind. Now... On with the screen shots of the build. Here is link to the topographic map I am using: http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/topoma...P_NAME,P18_MAP_TYPE:UT,ALL,\ogden\,Historical [TABLE="class: default2"]

As do I. I may have come off a tad aggressive. The Multiple posts reference is the 3 or 4 posts in a row that could be easily addressed in one (albeit larger) post. If it was two days inbetween each post, that's understandable, but for 10 or 15 minutes you should just use the "Edit Post" button

Yeah... Your track work isn't great... Really. I suggest you search the forums for my turnout tutorial as it will help you out a lot.

That would be great if someone could do that. Every time I try to fix the track, It just gets worse. Please re-read my first post for a reference of the topo map I am using for this build.

Here is what I would do for what it is worth.

1. insert a spline point between each switch.
2. straighten the new segments between each switch.
3. create a long track segment not connected to the route and use it as a guide to align all spline points on the switch line.

Probably not the recommended method but it works for me. Placing small straight sections between the switch points on the tracks shown in the last two screenies should help too.

Good luck!

I backdated his route to TRS2006 trainzbuild 2.6 ... edited it in the TRS2006 CMP as the water type was not found in my database ... But no baseboards show in TRS2006, even though I allowed my TAD to rebuild, by deleting asset.tdx and assets.bku

What is it about the way the TS09,10,12 route files that is so radiclly different from TRS2006 ?

How can I get a 09,10,12 route to show in TRS2006 ?

I am trying to help him with trackwork.

I suppose that I will have to try to backdate his route to TS10 trainzbuild ?

Will that work ?

Is it because TS 09,10,12 have a 5m grid, and TRS2006 has a 10m Grid ?

Is the TS 09,10,12 baseboard radicly different that TRS2006 ?

I noticed that there are several files in his route, that TRS2006 usually does not have in a route file... Is that the difference that keeps it from showing up ?

i have downloaded and once merged all four routes OgGrRi in TRS2004 in one long time ago,but abandoned work due lost all trainz asets and progres :(

[TD]I am currently fixing the track as I speak. Can someone explain how to add a spline point so I can have better more functional prototypical turnouts?

That first one is a little straight and the other one is a little short, but they'll work up until you decide to host them somewhere.

And why are your switch stands so far back?
