Has anyone here on trainz amde the union pacific 9000 class steam engine?

if so where?

( i have no clue but for some reason my pennsy q class 4-4-6-4 was lost)

a 4-12-2? if their is such a locomotive it must have operated only on striate track because up's 4-8-4's had a hard time navigating corners on curvy track

Actually, the UP 4-12-2 locomotives were quite successful, especially for a three-cylinder locomotive.

TheCowboy has made these locomotives as payware for Trainz, check the payware forum. They're worth every cent.

Call me stupid, but I have seen the screenshots the UP 9000 steam locomotives in Murchison 2. Are they included in Murchison 2, or do I have to buy the UP 9000 pack separately?

Well, I do have the CD version of the UP 9000 Pack, but it is only for TRS2004. How do I import the pack into TS2010? The reason I asked is because most of the TRS2004 content is compatible with TS2010.

The thread pointed to in the previous post might help. You also know Shane had a free updated version for TRS2006 on his site. IIRC you can still dl it and install into TRS06 using the original license key you have. As I mentioned in the other thread I made a cdp of the locos and all the dependencies in TRS06 CM and imported it into TS12. It came thru with a few problems and I had to make some edits but I was able to clear all the errors with no real trouble and just left the warnings for the next version of Trainz. They all show warnings but show up and work in Surveyor and Driver.

If you have to use TRS2004 you'll have to find all the folders with assets you need to bring over - they should be located under Auran\TRS2004\World\Dispatcher\downloads\ but the folders are named with kuid numbers - then use the import content from the file menu in TS12 and import the folder contents directly into TS12. If you miss any and you probably will CM will indicate missing dependencies and you can right click on the asset and get a list of what's missing. You can then search back thru the TRS04 folders for it. Make sure you at least get all the locos and tenders over so CM can tell you whatelse to look for. 8-)

9000's

Those monsters were powerful brutes, pulling tonnage from Council Bluffs Iowa through Wyoming. They were not particularly fast, but considering their job they were faster than most.

In fact they ran near or just over 50mph and could pull nearly the same tonage as the challengers. You're right, not as versatile as the challengers or Big Boys, but those 9000's ran nearly as long. Thjey were the largest rigid framed locos in American history and with thier unique three cylinder drive they were successful oddballs too.

Do you mean seen one? or actually built(made). If that's the question.....my second 9000 class build in G gauge is under way. A combination of plastic, and brass. I start out with Trashed New Brights, hours of cutting, lots of Styrene, PVC, glues and brass accoutrements, then paint, piping, railing and countless lost hours of leaving the house. Then it starts all over again with the tenders. So far I have built two Big Boys, challengers and working on the next 9000. Sold one at a show last year in Washington for $400.00. Not much over the investment and tiime, but still a return. Although these are actually operational, they are rather rigid to navigate any short radius. The Big Boys flanges were removed from the inner drivers one motor actually drives the loco's rear drive truck. The challnegers have two motors driving those 12 wheels. The 9000's are single motor driven with power transfered through all 12 wheels.

Will it feature the third low-pressure cylinder inside the frame, along with Gresley conjugated valve gear?
