unable to contact DLS

I know I can't get on sometimes for days, whether the sever is too busy or what i don't know, but i just keep trying and get there eventually. Weekends seem the worst...Do you access it throught the trainz splash screen or through a search engine??? You could try both. Maybe google it and try that way
 
There are more people signing up and downloading from the DLS that it's overloading the server. I suggest a whole website reform, if it won't cost much.
 
The question is, however, what version of trainz are you running?

TR04?
TR06?
Classic?

Give the community a bit more detail on your problem, instead of "Unable to contact the DLS" ....

This can be a number of things, I had trainz help set up to DLS for TR04 thus conflicting with TR06 if I tried to download ...

Other times it could be that your user name and password does not match with your user profile ... for example: if you change your user name and password in your profile you MUST do the same in all versions of trainz, so it matches!

Another issue could be your ticket statues ... do you have a first ticket class ??

See the pattern -- give details, and I am sure someone or even readying the above example can help and assist you in your quest to download:hehe: :wave:

There must be a reason for all these members with problems - but it isn't everyone....

I was able to log-in/search/download both Saturday and Sunday this week-end.

Granted, the CMP took a little longer than normal to hunt all the dependencies, but the download was correct (no corruption) and >200.

If some of us can connect and others can't, then it is unlikley to be a server fault - it's down to the connectivity of our PCs to the DLS.

That involves lots of different variables - which makes it much harder to analyse.

Well I run TRS2004 & it has been telling me the same since Thursday, was downloading with no problem Mon/Tues/Wed, then just stopped.
Yes I have a 12 month FCT & I've checked all my login details & settings.
It is not my machine, it is the DLS that is messing about & if it ain't fixed soon, I think all those who have spent hard earned cash on an FCT, should bombard Auran with refund demands. :(

Guys, so you know --

There are 2 servers:

US
Europe

Auran told us this years back, so who knows now with Auran difficult journey.

So if the US server goes down European who download will NOT be affected.

Thus far for me no problems -- download at 400k+!

Done that, it don't work.
I've tried every suggestion from both sides of the channel & both sides of the atlantic, but when the DLS is broke, it's broke.:(

Not happy

Hi folks,

I am NOT happy with TRS2006 lately. The problem seems to be with the DLS USA server. Hangup, hangup, hangup. Everything locks up and I can't even use ctrl/alt/delete to get out. I finally have to do a forced shutdown and reboot. Because CMP ties in to the DLS , I can't even do local work. I have had a FCT for years but have finally decided to not renew it until the system works better. Why should I plunk down my money if the system isn't going to work with me? Even getting gear from websites outside of Trainz is a problem with TRS2006 because I need to get into CMP to commit anything I download. As soon as CMP is activated I get that darn " Checking the Trainz database" message and El locko happens again.

I will now do a complete file and registry check, clean out the cache and start again. I know that grumbling doesn't help, but since I'm on another computer waiting for my Trainz computer to come back up, it's all I can do!

Update: This time CMP didn't hang up. I used Registry Mechanic to clear up the registry after deleting the Trainz cache. It seems to be communicating again, but for how long is anybody's guess. Ok the download is done with. Just a simple box car. I hope I have it!
