UMR 2013 PRR NEC Conversion Screenshot Thread

Coming along, slowly. My Trainz got corrupted by an extended database repair and i had to re-install everything. I also took that opportunity to get back into Flight Simulator. I'm glad to see interest in my project.

Anyway, here's a few pictures from after I fixed everything. I changed out the JR tracks for the USLW ones to see how things look. I'm still itching for the JR Position Light Signals, though. The signals, and some more PRR/PC content would definitely help in the motivation department.

Sorry to hear that, but I'm glad you were able to recover your data. Auran really needs to look into these EDR-related problems as they have claimed too many a victim. Nice progress, looking forward to more. The USLW tracks look very close to real US tracks.

That's why I like them. The only problem I have is the performance hit. I actually tried to reskin some JR tracks to have the USLW ballast, but they came out transparent-ish. If I could get (or make) JR-style versions of those tracks, then I would be able to do the project faster, without the constant freezes while the game tries to load a new area.

Anyone know of a way I can make the USLW tracks less of a performance hog? I love them, but they can cause issues, especially in large yards (Smithville).

I am considering it. Right now, there aren't enough PRR/PC/CR electrics out there to justify electrifying the whole thing. I am planning something for the area defined by IW, O&W, GHOO and Milbury. Maybe a big city or something. The route will primarily be PRR, but will also have an NYC portion, as well as a small NH portion (Maybe). The PRR is a definite, as JR is releasing their PRR Smart Signals:)...eventually. :( If the SAXRT tri-lights are going to be interchangeable with JR's signals, then I will use those on the NYC part. For now, I will use the JR CLights on the to-be-PRR lines and the Searchlights on the to-be-NYC lines.

On the subject of the catenaries, I have Gfisher's PRR catenaries, and I love them because I can run anything under them, including double-stack container trains. I have also seen some in drchoi21's screens. If a full set of PRR-style catenaries for 1, 2, 3, and 4-track setups, then the task of electrification would be much easier. As it is, I have to use PRR cats on the 4-track sections, and DL&W cats on everything else, and adjust their height to accommodate.

Hey guys,

Update: I have completed the line from Gladston to Clarksville. Some things you will notice in the screens are the blackened Searchlight Signals. They are re-skinned versions of JR's signals that I am using as placeholders for the to-be-released PRR Smart Signals. I will use the standard searchlight signals as placeholders for the NYC-style Trilights that SAXRT seems to have in the works. With the different colors, it will be very easy to see what's what without having to look up properties. Also, I reskinned USLW's track and now I have tracks for Mainlines (Original shiny), Branch Lines ("Slightly Used" by dricketts on DLS), Rusty/Abandoned Spur/Rare Use ("Rusty" by dricketts on DLS), and Yard/Siding Tracks (greasy-looking versions of aforementioned tracks).

The following screenshots are in no order whatsoever, but enjoy anyway.

There's several instances where Neil used the YARNish T-Intersection L2x3 +2Sh -1Sh -3Si instead of the correct +3Sh version. It looks weird, discontinuous, as you can see with the intersection near the crossing at the Southern Farm Elevator Co-op.
