UKTrainz Forum - Closure

It's a shame it's come to an end, Chilli. I've had a great time on there over the years. Here's hoping Mark's new site becomes as popular and highly regarded as yours was :)

I'd like to include my thanks for the efforts made over the years. As has already been said by others, as soon as I had a problem with Trainz I always went to the UKTrainz Forum first. As the old saying goes "You don't know what you've got until you lose it". A sad day and I wish Mark well with his forum.

I've got a domain name and uploaded forums for you all.......
http://www.trainzuk.co.uk/

I'll need to sort out the forums so if you'd like to join up and post what categories you want etc i'll add them :)

Forums can be found here http://forum.trainzuk.co.uk/

I'll build website shortly whereby you can add your own links to your websites etc and we'll see if we can this new site up with everything you need...
I know what it's like to have a site one minute and gone the next :( and as i see it won't be coming back i've done this for you all as a way of giving back what trainz gives to me :)

Sorry the other site has gone, but lets try and remember it for the good it was!

I have now started setting up a new forum. Which Im hoping we can make just as good as the old one. :D

I'll join it

Edit:

I hope we don't get a surge of people setting up forums, i really hate forums that have like 10 members, Marky's forum is well established and i will from now on be annoucing future projects there as most of you probably will, marky has already given quite alot of time to the community and its very nice of him to open his forum up for us

Just in case you were not aware Marky has already set up a site very similar in format to the old one, many have already signed up. http://trainz-forum.neonw.com/index.php

Well done Paul for keeping it going 7 years

Paul I bought Trainz about 8 years ago at SECC in Glasgow, then I think met you at Glasgow the following year where you told me about Trainz UK. Great friendly forum. Can I just say thanks for the many years you put into this (and to the others).

Wishing you well for the future

Russell

Just got this announcement and must say I'm gutted. I've been using Railworks a lot recently but always kept an eye on the goings on at the UKTrainz forum as this was my first delve into the world of forums.

I agree that the last thing you people need now is a host of members setting up new forums. Marks forum looks the place to go to for all your Trainz fixes. I wish you guys luck with whatever forum you call Trainz home.

Very sorry to read about this. UKTrainz was a main part of the Trainz Forum Network which our British friends, TPR and IBerTrainZ set up when the last major Auran Forums outage ocurred some years ago. We tried to keep trainzers informed while the Auran lair was down for days.

Hope setting up a new trainzy home will be a pleasant solution. Sometimes restoring databases is just a nightmare and it is not worth the time you waste on it.

My warmest greetings and simpathy to the friendly UKTrainz team,

The networking side of Alberte

I've only just heard this information having been away at Christmas, it's very sad news indeed. Huge thanks to everyone that was on there over the years and to Chilly and Mike B for the superb administrative efforts they put in, I'm sure running a forum and database was very difficult 24/7.

Can I ask Mike B what will happen regarding Trainz Classics 3 website update news, etc, etc. Will we need to register at this new forum that the young man Mark is running, from now on ??

Cheerz. ex-railwayman.

RIP Uk Trainz :'(

Just heard the news :(, used to look to this forum for useful info and new content info :(, will be greatly missed. But every cloud has a silver lining maybe this could mean a follow-up site :D new model :) lol.
