Memories for me here. It's 40 years ago (May 1975 I think) that I had my first 'away' spotting trip at the age of 11 - we went to Barnetby for a Saturday afternoon and watched class 47s (and perhaps some 37s) on freight in and out of Immingham. Then we got the tea-time 'London' back to Cleethorpes. Happy days!

Glad you enjoyed it Paul. Are you from that area then? I've recently moved in with my partner in Grimsby. Would have loved to see some 47s and 37s haha!

Yes, Cleethorpes born and bred, but in London now for 25 years. Time flys!

Strange that I remember that day out in Barnetby 40 years ago. Maybe because it was the first time we were allowed out so far afield on our own.
