UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

Hi macneil,

A very impressive start to your Crewe map. This could be a prizewinner if you can find the time and desire to fully develop it.

How do you get the integration of map and Google Earth images on your basemap.

Scottish

With some Nexus magic ;)

The map overlay is a part of the DEM and the google earth images are UTM Tiles produced and added via Transdem . The hardest part was overlaying the 1970's track layout over the modern day post 1985 version . I wasn't aware of OLD Maps and there uses when I built that area for Macneil .

Added some screenshots to save double posting

Nexus, that first and second shots of the above 3 have to be without doubt, the best screenshots I've ever seen! Stunning.

Thanks all , I was a bit sceptical about upgrading to 2012 due to to some of the negative posts I've read but I'm so pleased with the result , longer draw distances , smoother flowing scenery whilst driving (no objects popping up in front of me) and the Doppler sound effect is superb . I've spent the last few days simply watching and listening to trains going past :D

@Joe : I've posted a reply in Shane's thread

Just a quick question Dave. In your first picture above, what is the track used for the up and down fast lines? I apologise in advance if you've provided that answer in a previous post (which I may have missed).

Thanks,
Innis

Many thanks Dave (Nexusdj) for passing by shanes thread, Your help was very much appreciated, I do know he is having a bit of trouble with the AJS platforms not loading, but I am sure Andi (AJS) might appear somewhere to help him out.

Once again, many thanks Dave for your valuable help, it's great having you here, and your screenshots are always amazing.

Spent the best part of a week fiddling with cab scripts for the rev counter so progress on the 105 has been a bit slow. Got some time off next week so the pace should pick up a bit...

Great shots all, I'd like to ask Dave about the Syphon? attached to the shunter in your 2nd pic, is it available anywhere?

Gam

It's a reskin of the syphon from the train driver add on . I have permission to reskin but sadly only for own use .

@ Rumour3 : That 105 looks suberb and another excellent DMU cab I'll be spending a lot of time in :D
The new track should be on the DLS in the next few hours .

Great shots all :D

This is great content, but please bear in mind the sticky post 'What to Post in Screenshots'

As I understand it from what Arraial said, if it is stated as Paywarre then that's what it is, otherwise it is freeware. None of the shots of his amazing bolster here say anything about them being payware so they must be freeware, i.e. no charge is attached.
As freeware content I cannot see any disruption of the rule on posting as a screenie as I read it.
I have not visited that site but one must assume if there is no charge then you don't have to pay. Arraial did not blatantly try to advertise any such site, it was mentioned due to a request from another member, not an unreasonable reply IMHO, yet at the same time the site was not aggressively promoted, the reply was a reply to a question, just that and nothing more.
I am not aware that content that is free is banned from a screenshot thread...!!!??? if it is just a screenshot and not promoting a commercial venture. In the end a screenie is a screenie, where is the difference here?

I do post all my freeware in the freeware section because that seemed to me to be the logical place, but equally I could post some of the shots of these made as a small scene in the screenshots thread, for instance the shot of Somerton with all the assets in place, but they would still be free content (Freeware). That is just the same as placing a couple of wagons on a length of track to show them off.

Arraial's native language is not English so there could easily be a misinterpretation here and the creator should be giving a little slack before a rather bold and bare statement of 'read the rules' is given, there are ways of saying things that are a bit more diplomatic.

I too would feel somewhat hurt, after all, the work done is only for the good of the Trainz community if it is for free. My message to Arraial is to please do keep posting your content, but to keep certain people happy and the rest of us more than delighted, maybe in the Freeware section rather than here.

Now isn't that a better way of putting it...??
