Hi Again, Thanks Warbo40 for the nice words.
New models for dls. I hope to make or any one else this van with the British BBC news logos. Also i post a plane model who have a shadow on the ground of the plane you can compare the traditional shadow on the vans whit the shadow of the plane using render to texture and a blending alpha map.

City of Truro as she may have looked if liveried in early BR Lined Black.

Does anybody know if City of Truro and other members of this class ever wore this livery?

Thanks to skipper1945 for the City of Truro model.

Rob.

I think it was in the 80's, City of Truro was painted in BR black as an April fools joke by Steam Railway. I have to admit that I always thought she looked quite smart in BR livery, but it annoyed the livery fundamentalists which made it even better! :hehe:

Thanks for the info.

I agree, the black livery does look smart and I bet it really annoyed the GWR livery police.

I have seen pictures of ex GWR Star class locos in this livery, I especially like the red background to the nameplates and number plates.

I don't know if any other class of ex GWR loco wore this livery.

Rob.

Got to admit Tony she does look rather smart How long do you reackon it will be before the delner version will come along?

Got to add one point though I was always told they needed 6 MK2's for brake force behind them but I could have been fed duff info :)

Anything less than 7 and they can run but at a reduced speed due to the train having less brake force .

Back in Br days they had a cross country driver (47+5 coaches) run past a red signal where they've never had any problems before . BR put it down to the driver error but he complained and the union got involved (aslef if I remember correctly).
So with the possible threat of industrial action BR went out and did some tests based on the fact that his train that day of the spad had had a vehicle knocked off due to a fault .

The 6 car train stopped at the red after applying the brake at the distant signal as per normal from line speed . The 5 car train meanwhile sailed past the red by a good couple of loco lengths even with the brake in emergency !!

Red faces at BR and driver let off / union happy :D

Current rule book states :

A locomotive with 4, 5 or 6 vehicles (made up of parcel or mk1 ,mk2 or mk3 vehicles) :
line speed 100mph or above train can do maximum 90mph
line speed 95 or 90 : train maximum 80mph
line speed 80 or 85 : train maximum 75mph
You do not need to reduce speed if the permissible line speed is 75 mph or less.
You do not need to comply with these instructions for trains of four
or more mark 1 or mark 2 vehicles, mark 3 sleepers and postal or
parcel vehicles when hauled by one or more class 67 locomotives.

That's interesting, maybe the complaints about the 47 enginespec are unjustified after all;)

Only joking....

@Joe_t- the 57 work was only meant to be a short break from the main project I'm working on, which I started in December. I need to return to this very soon and many other projects I have myself and supporting others.

Does anyone have the Railwaves 57? Is the Dellner coupling animated on it? There's a few technical issues I'd need to suss out, ie. suppressing the chain coupling and hoses while the Dellner is deployed for coupling to a Voyager or Pendolino. Then there's the animation, but if anyone else wants to build a Dellner for this project then it will happen much quicker.

Script wise the best way to achieve coupling I think would be to us the ACS system. If you look at peterhicks mk2 coaches they have an animated buckeye that swings into place for buckeye to buckeye and as default is in the dropped position for the hook to be accessible.

If it were to wear this livery, I believe it would wear the number 3717 as that was it's later number. Nice job on the reskin though. Perhaps you could try doing the livery it currently wears?

Nice job on the 57 Gary! Can't wait to get my hands on them and I notice you have now released the FGW 57 which I will be downloading in due course!

Thanks Matt, you're probably right about the number 3717.

Like this?

I did this sometime ago now. I couldn't get the number style quite right on the front bufferbeam and the lining on the cab front is simplified, both due to how skipper1945 mapped his original textures which I can't alter in a reskin.

Again, thanks to skipper1945 for the City of Truro model.

Is the ACS system capable of differentiating between a dellner or shackle coupling .
You have to remember that the coupling on the Pendolino is not set up with ACS or Bluestar .

Easier to set it up the same way as what Snowsignal used and have a pop up box in driver mode where you can select either couplings and raise them or lower them when you need . It's no different to what a 57/3 driver has to do in real life .

That is a very valid point Nexus and I agree with you the popup box would be the best way to go about it. But bear in mind I am a compelete novice to the world of scripting and also the world of gmaxing and Blender :(

Hi Rob

no none of the class ever had this livery in service as all had been withdrawn by around 1931. I agree she does look smart ib BR Lined Black but I Alway prefered truro in it orginal GWR Livery.

Ahh yes I think you're right. City of Truro went in to preservation but was reinstated for main line service sometime in the 1950's I believe and liveried in the GWR style.

I think I'm correct about this, perhaps you will correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks for info.

Hey guys,

Need to let you know that my Trainz website will be closing down on 31st January 2012 (2 days). And I may be quitting the Trainz stuff for a while. I'm tied up with my mates game, after he wants me to create the maps and people and weapons for it. Then I have my GCSE work to handle. And im into the Virus business.

Ill still be on here because up to now things arent shaping up to the above.

Thanks Trainzinator.
