UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

Thanks. Am slowly upgrading my Favorite routes to TS2010 standards, replacing the tracks, & the now dreadful TS04 low res textures.(a pet hate of mine with TS2010 screenshots) I would use speedtrees but my ancient system can't handle them

yeh, I can see your screenshot quality has improved a lot, keep up the good work:D. Just for interest, are you working on a route about the mersey metro system? Some shots are looking familiar to it.

Superb shots paul502

just an update of the lime street station and some wips of huyton and roby

Just one slight issue with the shots of huyton and Roby, where are the disused platforms?
In real life there are two other (long disused) platforms on the Manchester bound side.
At huyton they have been filled in leaving a large open space but at roby they are still there and are more evident now that they have cut the trees down.
Other than that they are brilliant, easily recognisable.

An NXEA class 317 waits at Churston for the off.
When the Churston branch is finally released on the DLS, it will in fact be set in 1985 with the likes of Blue & grey 315s and class 308s.
The Churston branch is loosely based off of the Chingford Branch in North London with a lot of artistic license.

I belive I have posted a similar picture before. I shall post it again as I quite like this one of Slivertown, shortly after closure.

@ elbloomo, I actually recognise that pic from trawling around on the abandonedstations.org site. Great work.

Thanks for the comments, 507, to be honest, I am not quite familiar with the area, my modelling comes from my memory, bing, google, etc. It is good to hear that there are people interested in the Liverpool-Manchester railway:D. I am interested in the disused platforms you have mentioned above, and it will be a great help if you can direct me to some websites, etc.

Can any one Please tell me where this BR class 35 Hymek is? I have Posted before and it was sed that it was not released Yet but it looks like it has been released as I see that some users have got it. I checked the internet and Payware section in forum and I could not find it at all. Has it been released or not?

Hey fellow trainzers,

If anyone could help me it would be appreciated. In the 6th post of this thread the 1st pic by escafeld you will see on the far left a Regional Railways loco.

Thats the problem I need to know what class it is and where to find it, avoiding the DLS would be nice as my FCT has ran out.

Thanks Trainzinator

The Hymek is finished, but the website isn't, so there has been no official release announcement yet. In the meantime, anyone who wishes to purchase it is welcome to PM me for more details.

I can't find any pictures that show it now that the trees have been cut down.
Basically The L&M used to be a four track line as far as Huyton Junction.
In the Mid 60's the Slow lines (which were on the right hand side of your picture of Roby) were taken out of use. By 1970 the Up Slow had been removed, leaving just the Down Slow in place as per this shot of Huyton http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/363069.

Now, by the 1980's the scene changed once again, the Down slow was removed and the formation allowed to return to nature.
http://www.derbysulzers.com/huytonstation88.jpg
At Roby the Platforms were left in place and they soon became very overgrown, to the point where you couldn't actually see them. The platforms at Huyton were filled in to allow a new access road to the signal box (which bears a striking resemblance to nexusDJ's LNWR box). It soon became pretty much hidden from view of the station by a row of trees that grew on top of the old platform. Google earth shows what I mean quite well.

The signal box itself used to sit in the middle of the Fast and slow lines;

===================UP Wigan
===================Down Wigan
SB
===================UP Manc
===================Down Manc
Roby was much the same formation, albeit without the box.

Hope I've explained and helped you a bit, as I said, the pictures are great and are easily recognisable. If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask! :)

Thanks :)

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the 4 track section will be reinstated with the electrification of the line , Though I can't seem to find any detailed plans on the net to back it up .

I did find this interesting site whilst searching : http://www.nw-sparks.co.uk/index.shtml

There's been talk of it, I doubt it'll ever happen, it'll cost too much and too much has been altered around Broad Green to make it viable really.

Thanks for linking that site, I'll be keeping an eye on that!

Yet another Brilliant screenshot btw!

Huyton electrification

Thanks :)

Yes, Dave is right, it has been payed for, and the work is due to start early next year, the four track section will start just after Broadgreen Station, and then run through Roby and Huyton before leading off to St Helens and Wigan. It will allow faster and more frequent services between Liverpool and Blackpool, Preston, Wigan and Manchester.

Overhead electrification on the line is already in the planning stages, and will add an alternative link to the West Coast Mainline between Liverpool and Manchester.

Hope the above helps

A few from little me

Hi all,
Nice shot there nexus. I am sorry to say the FGW's Fag Packets are listing but there are no thumbnails and they won't place in 2004. So the shots below in which I had hoped to display them in all their glory have other items instead.

WCL_1_west_drayton.jpg

Having left Paddington way behind this MML train hops through West Drayton station.

WCL_2_Iver.jpg

next it passes through Iver station and battles onwards.

WCL_3_Slough1.jpg

It enters Slough in this shot.

More to follow...

And many thanks to Photobucket as well.

Onward, ever onward

As we continue our journey....

WCL_4_Slough2.jpg

Slough again from the other side as the train gather momentum again.

WCL_5_Slough3.jpg

And having clambered onto a roof our intrepid photographer steadies themselves to take a higher shot of Slough station

WCL_6_Maidenhead.jpg

Here the train passes across the Maidenhead bridge over the Thames. Now then, when I get time I must have a go at making Brunel's great and quite beautifully proportioned bridge myself.

WCL_7_westbury.jpg

And lastly in this series of shots we stand at the western end of the platforms at Westbury with a RM train in the far sidings. This is on the second section and all shot were grabbed from the route of 2 sections combined, One and Two.

I have not tried joining section 3 one yet as it is far from completion.

Again a big thanks to Photobucket for free hosting.

Blessings,

Angela

Great shots everyone!

Electrification is much further than the planning stages, most of the infrastructure work (as in bridges being rebuilt) has been done between Newton and Manchester.

I really don't think we'll see it requadrupled. However, I am willing to be proved wrong!
