WOW mezzoprezzo, I love the old country railway shot with the steam engine across the bridge, the detail in the shot is superb, especially the hillside in the distance, it must have took you ages to make the scene look that good, I did notice the river looks really good, considering you didn't use water.

It didn’t take too long to make the background landscape. Probably 10-15 minutes. Framing the shot always takes longest, usually combined with fixed or tracking camera positioning which I find is very hard to fine tune. Once you get a satisfactory angle it looks great in Driver. With the added movement and added effects such as some of the French birdsong assets the imagery really comes alive.
The water effect was discovered by accident. I happened to see a “lake” in the far distance on my baseboard which I knew I hadn't created. It turned out to be a bit of chequered baseboard I simply hadn’t textured. I just exploited the accident and developed it from there. I'm not convinced it does need changing.
There are many sign "fails" around. This one could very well be prototypical.
