UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

I don't post much now as I've come in for a lot of flack for posting pics of content I'd not released .

Certain parts of the old guard took it on themselves to criticise the newbies for posting pics with bits of grey board showing , so that scared a few folks off from posting !!

It's a shame that the original forum was lost in a crash because I'd bet there where quite a few grey board pics from said same people back in the day !!

We all have to start somewhere !!

Nexus on that last part I can't agree more, I like to try and give constructive critisim where I can. There are oine or 2 exceptions to that but both those exceptions have stoped creating content for Trainz.

texture that board!!

Speaking of blank boards does anyone know a good texture for in railway yards?
(and also how to go to a certain texture in the texture menu in trainz 2006)

Yes sort of; there are folding "flaps" that meet the side of the train car eliminating "the gap" completely. :D

Actually having a platform 'meet' the the train isn't that new of a concept; the Chicago Transit Autority installed some on their Stokie Swift line (now: Yellow Line) for the use of the experimental State Of the Art Cars (SOAC). You can see them here:
http://www.chicago-l.org/trains/gallery/images/SOAC/SOAC02.jpg
The darker colored bit of the platform folds in to allow the SOAC cars to pass the platform; and alternatively fold out to minimize the gap for the normal CTA cars.

I didn't realize that the FMA UK Platforms don't fit on the AJS station kits until after I was in driver. Its on my list of things to fix.

These shots are from an unfinished and UNTEXTURED route. But as this thread has now turned a corner I wont receive abuse for posting them.

Absolutely. I fail to see the value of these screenshots. Miles of blank baseboard with a bit of track and a train plonked down on it. What's the point? What are you showing us??

Does it really matter what the picture is? This thread is for ANYONE to show their UK content no matter what stage of creation it is! Personally I was looking for constructive criticism (and not about the lack of texture!) Also iv got lots of idea's from other people's screenshots at various stages of completion. But if some of you so called 'professionals' have a problem with people posting shots of their creations at an unfinished stage, then maybe this should be detailed in the Thread description?? Or you can just people post what they want??

+1 just what he said

+1

Look at the 1st screenshot in the thread, that has baseboards showing
Although i do agree that multiple images of "nothing" are annoying

What sort of "constructive criticism" do you hope for when there is so little to see?

You've got the fence at the right end of the embankment (more than some do, I grant you) and you can put some stock on the track, so far so good. The embankment isn't very well formed though - unless you're planning on putting a lot of badger sets in it. You need smooth the grid far more than that.

Apart from an ego boost for the poster, I'm not sure what a page full of grid lines does add to the forum, but that may be just me. As for you nexus, whether the content is ever going to be released or not, at least it's new, interesting and invariably of high quality, so surely it's worth showing.

And yes, there's things wrong with this shot, but I wasn't going to post without a screenie :)

EDIT: Charles, you beat me to it!

I am working on creating the Malton & Driffield Railway in Trainz 2009 simulator and this is the west end of Malton station with the engine shed on the right.
