Still quite a bit to do. Still got to get to Penzance, then improve the track gradients between St Austell and Saltash, including the Newquay and Looe branches, and improve the scenery around Par. Then build the Devon side of the Tamar. The St Budeaux area and part of the Keyham area of Plymouth are almost done. And the Gunnislake branch only goes up about a mile past the Tamar Bridge at the moment.
I think the .gnd file is about 100mb.

In that case you will either need to split the route into two or get in touch with Auran and ask for permission to upload a large file.
Personally I would split, I have done already but taking part of the present section off and adding it to the next. Bit of a fiddle but there is no quick way of doing it I am afraid.

Good luck with the rest of the route. If you have a fair bit more to do it will certainly be over the file size limit.

Don't forget that when the route is added into a CDP for uploading to the DLS, the CDP will compress the files contained, so it may still come under the 100mb limit. Although for any large route its best really just to get in touch with Auran and get them to manual add it, as spliting the route will only be a pain for both yourself and end users having to put the 2 parts back together again.

It's fairly easy merging routes, I have to do it to make sure the ends of my sections line up and it isn't a problem. The route I am working on is far to big to consider as a single file so just has to be in sections.
I haven't heard of anybody having a serious problem with both the sections on the DS so far and they have been up for ages.
But a single file is obviously better if it will go up as one. The best thing for Mark to do is create a test cdp and see what size it comes out as.

Well today is New years eve eve, and tonight I suddenly came up with a great idea ... To look back on the past decade with a selection of the different liveries that Cornwall has seen over the past 10 years. So here they are ...

Wales & West were formed in 1997, and ended in 2001

Virgin Trains ran HSTs.

First Great Western's HSTs had the Barbie Livery

Virgin Trains had their HSTs replaced with Voyagers which were built in 2001.

Wessex Trains was one of the companies which replaced Wales & West. Here is one of their brightly coloured Sprinters.

Arriva Trains wales used to run services down to Penzance.

First Great Western won the Greater Western Franchise in 2006, as a result their HSTs were giving a new livery.

The Greater Western Franchise also merged Wessex Trains with FGW. This is a 158 wearing the New "Local Lines" Livery

In 2007 Arriva CrossCountry took over the Cross Country franchise from Virgin.

And South West Trains stopped their operations west of Exeter in December 2009.

I wonder what the next decade will bring us in the way of new trains and liveries.

Not so.

Wales & West was originally a division of Regional Railways (albeit under the name South Wales & West) and, as per all the NSE and Regional Railways divisions, became Train Operating Unit of the BRB during the break up of the BR network. It became vested as a company in it's own right during mid to late 1994, before being let to Prism Rail during 1996 and having it's name shortened to Wales & West in 1997. Prism was taken over by NatEx in 2000. Wales & West was, to permit the Welsh side of the company to be devolved to the Welsh Assembly Government, broken up in 2001 - with the remainder being rebranded as Wessex Trains.

10 liveries/companies in just over 10 years serving just one particular part of the country - you've managed to sum up (in a colourful way) everything that's wrong with our railways under privatisation! :hehe:

Thanks - I'm really enjoying doing this one.

It's in TS2009 with TC3 added in - I need the 5m grid for some of the cuttings. I hear 2009 is pretty cheap these days though.......
