UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

Well I'm glad that people like my efforts so far.:)

I thought I'd post a few screenies to prove I was actually doing the Stainmore route, as I have mentioned it a couple of times previously. It is still very much work in progress though.

I'm concentrating on Barnard Castle to Kirkby Stephen, and have about 17 miles textured out of 22. I'm doing 3 baseboards each side of the track and aiming for a 3km viewing distance. Lots of fine details still to be added - like signals and fences and walls along the track. :hehe:

Thanks for the tips Captain Scarlet, you certainly know a thing or two about putting a good route together. I just wish my PC would run Sheffield for more than an hour. :(

I must admit I am struggling with trees. I'm trying to put in the right types/species, but perhaps I should concetrate on getting the colours right. I have used and then removed Trunda's trees as I'm trying to keep to DLS items only, which is a shame as they are very good trees. Maybe I should re-consider.

The fluorescent trees in the foreground are Beech 20m by Railcentre 133671:20167. The ones on the extreme right are Jankvis Beech summer 328583:2674. Do folks think the JVC ones are too bright as well?

@durhamlass: Looking good there, hope to see some more shots soon.

Ok yes true, but only 10 out of maybe 100 available. But they are good ones....

Here's another shot to keep the thread on track.

Barnard Castle, taken in TS2009. Signals etc to do..........

Strange that you should pick the green 101. Here it is again.

BTW, has anyone got Trainz Tuner to work in Vista 64-bit?

Reinstalled TRS2004, but TrainzObjectz can't find PaintShed files and I can't download cdp files. Hey Ho!

A route I need to get on with.

Early Sunday morning.

Superb screenies Dave, even though you're having a few Trainzy problems at the moment, I hope you get them sorted soon....

Here's a few of Ben Wheeler's new reskinned Class 47 in DRS weathered livery on an American layout, but, it does look good.....Well done and thanks for the new duffs young man.....:)

I'd certainly love to see more. You're landscape was very inspiring.

I hope I didn't sound patronising, I received some slack for not using Jankvis' efforts and after giving them a second try on updated versions I've had to remove them once more. They probably suite other types of landscapes well but my idea of British landscape differs. I believe that even though Britain is green it isn't fluorescent/bright, it's possible to use tones that aren't to brash and have the trees to go with it that don't transform the screen into Test Card F. I like subtle tones but appreciate colour, adding plants (though my attention to detail rarely includes places grass splines and flowers.
I like DM_Drake's hickory and emery oaks, birch and willows. There some others I forget.
You can see in your last shots a couple of trees that look out of place. Great situation and rendering but the trees look weird, just weird as if summat didn't look reit.

Outstanding! Absolutely outstanding. Please do keep it in 2004 or our layout joining will suffer dearly. I still need measurements for the GCR you'll have going north out of Annesley and Arkwright Town towards Staveley.

I now understand people's comments about the track, I've replaced all the track with FMA track 52 (for wood) and 09 (for concrete), I added an obsolete table in both 09 and 52's configs to replace everything, looks great. Give it a go ;) AS49 brown aggregate ground texture matches FMA's track.

That line looks really odd, as if it were just plonked in that field, no texturing, fences or vegetation around the track. Great meadow on the left though.

Nice custom level crossing building there! What are these abandoned tires?

Yes, it will stay 2004. OK, but can match yours better than the other way round as nothing much done north of Annesley if I remember correctly.

I used the track you used, so need to change it to match. Please forward more specific details in case I have a senior moment and bugger it up. [/quote]

Shweet. I haven't laid Staveley down yet though it will have to be geographically correct to fit south of Darnall (the last point on the GCR on my layout atm) and Barrow Hill/Staveley Works (the other end of the line). I'll have to build the place before giving you measurements or sending you the layout.

The choice of track is yours but I think that with new products coming out I could upgrade my tracks. I will give you the kuids tonight when I get in.

An unusual visitor to Pink Panther Country:

Looking at the last one (and mindfull of recent advice!) I think I need to change the grass to one that blends in a bit more (it's just a bit too green) Other than that, I'm rather happy with this part of the route (Rough Lea, between Hunwick and Willington). :)

A few more from me:
paul502 how is foster's lane coming ? any more pic's ? fantastic route by the way
Hope these are ok. Not done much on route lately, have been busy on repainting buses into Ribble livery. Also getting new computer in next day, & will have to safely transfer files.

Spraxton Iron Ore Quarry operates 3 quarry sites connected to the main line via a 1 mile long steep connecting line to exchange sidings with the GN & MR joint line. Currently the line is operating an on loan ex L&Y Aspinal 0-6-0 saddle tank while one of the Hudswell Clarke industrial shunters are away being repaired.

Ace shots Rob, very nice. Believable which I think is the most important.
And for those on TRS2006, there's a couple of Class 76's on the DLS you can use on the electrified section of the map...
I don't why Redmanb11 made reskin of the original 76 for Trainz2006 since the original model was made for 2004, a little stupid to say the least but because his method is flawed, I downloaded the model, changed the build in the config.txt and changed the model to an alias so there is no mesh in the model. The colours are pretty bad and the texturing shiny in the wrong places. I'll work on the textures and make this version available (after speaking to Pacificseven). I had to lash on Redmanb11 since his re skinning and config work was pretty bad. I'm sure I can get the model to work for 1.3 too since there is nothing special in the model that prevents it from working in the oldest KUID using version of Trainz.

Cheers Greg, been harping on about that iron system for a while so good to get some shots of it on. Peter, that Aspinal is builtin content in TC3, it was made by Paul Hobbs.

Rob

Oooooooooooooo Peter not a bad looking beast there. Although I have to say the textures are looking a little grainy.
