UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

Dirty DRS spoon:

Have developed a bit of an addiction for reskinning rumour3's class 47 now, expect there to be lots more!

I'll submit it to the DLS when I get chance. DRS 47790 may also be done, plus WCRC maroon 47786 and Royal 47798, the latter of which will be the only photo textured one (although I'm quite pleased with how realistic the weathered DRS one looks anyway!)

Wow, that Clapham Junction looks very impressive  I hope its released!!
Nice 47s 46035, I've actually been looking for a DRS in its new livery for quite some time
:)

Hello Ike and Vendel
The worst bit is putting scenery into a London route, I know, I've done it! Frame rate goes out the window...
Amazing,
Angela

Isn't that the truth! I've started experimenting with Backdrops to see if that solves the problem. It isn't ideal, and there isn't really enough variety at the moment either.

Although I've used some of Vendel's Paris Backdrops that look effective at distance.

What a challenging route to build!

Is that what all of this excellent UK content has been produced for by your group?

That would make sense......and very grateful we all are as well :D
It was my birthday a few weeks ago, and got three books from the Middleton Press range that cover the Waterloo and Victoria lines.
Vendel's screenshots look like colour versions of some of the OS Maps in these books!
Would love to have seen this area of London during steam era. Modelling Nine Elms back then would be mental!

Shame I've not been able to use Trainz for the last two months coz of PC problems!

Is them t'engin's? Where'st blue 73 M8?

Will tha' shurrup, am recordin't trains.

E' that's a big 'un. Did tha' gerrit?

Inside the folder for the 1k map is a blank image of a certain size and .file type.

So if its a 1024x1024 .jgp file, then that's what you've got to replace it with. I usually rename the existing file by adding a 'b' to it and then add the new file to the folder and call it what the original was called.

I'm not naming the file in the folder because there is more than one set of maps and I might confuse the issue. There are also different sizes to be had.

It doesn't seem as though the 1024x1024 maps have been used here - something much smaller.

Hello Escafeld,

You wrote :- It doesn't seem as though the 1024x1024 maps have been used here - something much smaller.

I agree, they seem to have been resized to get scale and distance right.
So if you do it and it looks awful, resize the graphic and try again until it scales out correctly. Bit of a fiddle but worth it for complex layouts like Clapham.
Wish I had done it for Bristol now....

I know it's not a trainz shot per-se but, here's a little something I cooked up in GMAX:

London Blackfriar's Railway Station and Bridge

Hope you like it. I'll post some BR Blue maybe later on
