What does that mean John ?

Level of Detail, in theory things look the same but use a lower detailed mesh in the distance. For lower end machines it means you get the same visual performance with better frame rates. Somewhere in the forum there is a quote, "it runs on my machine so why should I bother with poly counts and LOD" from an American content creator. At extremes it means you can run on a standard office laptop, ie Middleton for Laptops. If you're running assets without LOD typically you need an RTX 4070 or above.

Thanks for that John, i know nothing about model creation. The 4070 was all i could afford when i put this machine together in August 2024. I would have preferred a Ti or a 4080.

This is the logic that caused a high number (if not the majority) of softwares to become bloatwares because, yes until very recently high-end hardwares became more and more affordable so the software developpers became kind of lazy and stopped trying to optimize their stuff to run on low-end PCs in which before they didn't have any choice to do otherwise due to the scarcity of high-end PCs.

Here's my latest reskin. After a year working on kettles, I wanted to get back to my BR blue diesel roots. Remember when 'Trans-Pennine Express' wasn't a dodgy train operating company who's trains get stuck outside Stockport? Remember the glamour of specially designed, powerful 6-car DMUs gliding over the Pennines? You're thinking of the class 124!
