UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

Good to see the Warship in some of your pics Mike. It's not a bad model (I was one of a group who were consulted during the development) but it's let down by some problems in the config (so you may have noticed there are no nameplates showing even though they're in the model). We communicated this to Matthias ages ago but nothing has been done. A recurring issue with Trainz DLC!

Oh gawd, i been in more Warship cabs than i have had hot dinners Paul. No detail on the engine room bulkhead, sounds are from a Hymek, cab interior needs to be toned down a bit way to clean buddy.
I know TSC is a completely different sim. But the the Western, Warship and Hymek in their hydraulics dlc is far superior to any similar in Trainz. Lack of UK dlc in Trainz is why i do most of my UK train simming in TSC.
Anyway i will get off my soapbox now ;)

Mike.

I find it interesting that the head code on the N3V Warships can be letters, not just numbers!

Childish, yes, fun yes! That's what toys are all about!

Sorry to drag the Warship subject theme down somewhat :p

Nice shots IKB.

Rob.
Good stuff Rob! Notice how the nameplates on the green version are the wrong colour? (they should be red) We raised this and other issues literally years ago and they've never been rectified. Meanwhile, N3V continue to sell this model in their Download Store while washing their hands of any kind of quality control. This is why people won't subscribe to Gold!

A busy -blue - morning at City Central:

I'm thinking that the (unheralded) star of the BR Blue pack might be the class 08. Although the model doesn't take account of the many different variants, it nevertheless does feel 'right' for the most numerous of all diesel classes on Britain's railways.

Glad you're enjoying the 08s Paul, I'll be honest in saying they're a favorite of mine from this pack as well :) (personal opinion there! I just think they look really good in weathered BR blue, it sits well on them)

The weathering was a lot of fun to get done; there's definitely plenty of reference for that around. That said, they were very much intended to be reasonably 'generic', to give them the widest usage possible. But there's definitely room to expand them thanks to the variations in the class.

The sea of BR blue is really pleasing to see though. Between this pack, and some 00 scale modelling a few friends have been doing lately, I've become quite fond of it from over here in Australia.

Thanks Zec. I hope we'll see some more BR blue stuff in due course. The class 47 definitely lends itself to some more versions (ie. without the high intensity headlamp, with headcodes, and in 47/0 and 47/3 variants.) But the class 08 is my favourite at the moment.

Here are a couple of shots of my first model train set, re-created in Trainz .... this is how my father and I (mostly him as I was only 7 or 8 years old !) first built it in around 1971 or 72. from a load of second hand mid sixties Triang stuff my parents had bought me. I remember going to collect it, it was all in a tea chest that only just fitted in the back of the car.

I started this project at the end of August 2025 and have this morning finished modelling the last scenery item (38 in total).

I have done this, well .... just because I could - I managed to find all the items on e-bay and have been creating the scenery assets from measurements taken off the actual items, I first modelled them in Autodesk Fusion, then exported as .FBX into blender where I have textured them - other than the tunnel mound and tree for which I used photometry 3D models, editing them down in blender to acceptable poly counts.

Where does it go from here? .... this whole project started when I got a new PC, capable of running Trainz with no problem and I decided to try and make plan 13 out of the late 60s Tri-ang Hornby track plans book that my dad had used when we built this railway (at the side of plan 12 there is a pencil drawing, with measurements of this layout as he planned it).

I could not find a suitable bridge or piers on the DLS for plan 13 so I thought I would make them, but then I ended up going down this route and modelled my first layout !

Plan 13 next then, I will start with the R78 Girder Bridge and R457 Inclined Piers that started the whole thing off, I have yet to decide if I will model the other items that the plan lists.

Tri-ang Hornby! Those items bring back so many memories (I had that tunnel!) Last Christmas was the 50th anniversary of getting my Hornby trainset. I couldn't resist reassembling the 'Freightmaster' train:

I hope you get round to releasing these items, I can foresee many happy hours revisiting Hornby trackplans!
