Zoid, would that be Bodmin that err... has a boiler that, to quote a SM "is falling apart?" Oh wait, Bodmin isn't a CP Class, is she?
Bodmin is a West Country class
There is no such thing as a Canadian Pacific class, that would be Merchant Navy
Sorry! I know very little about steamers, I must confess, (I've said that to someone before in Ropley shed!), ask me about EMU's, DMU's, Railbuses and Diesel/Electric locos, and I know what they will be, but pre 60s stuff? Don't bother!

Oh, if you are trying to immatate ropley, its a 1 in 280 or out of alton, possilby a 1 in 200, I should know, I've had to do some track walks between there and the Meon Valley Siding, although there are no signs to confirm this.
hi WEN, i'm trying to base the route on the mid hants but there are differences. Such as what would be ropley is called ropestead :hehe:. For the gradients etc, now i should know all of them like the back of my hand as being on the footplate crews there! Its 1 in 60 out of alton, then levels off at butts then back to 1 in 60 almost all the way to medstead and 4marks.
and here 45231 The Sherwood Forester is in light steam being prepared for the belle dinner train tonight
Do you know them all? I'd be interested, I know a 1 in 80 decending (spelling?) graident leaving Ropley that lasts for about a mile, before Alresford, a 1 in 60 either side of the bridge at Medstead, but thats it.
I also know what the "Meon Valley Siding" (I have to tell the signaller at Ropley when the group will be there, to empty out the blue vandalised and rusty GUV now) is, Ropley shed and Ropley Mannor but thats it for locations.
Whenever I am after the PIC, remind me to try the mannor first!
I suppose I got more to learn in my time being part of Rogers group. (I don't even know the name of the siding 45132 is parked in!)
Or is it the R.A.T. its on? ;-)
Yep thats right, 1 in 80 to alsford until round about the outer home were i think it levels off to 1 in 250 all the way in to the platforms. This is when u notice your nice 3 1/4 full of a gauge class has gone dwn to only 1/4 full!
I'm guessing 45132 is one of the many diesials 'parked up' at ropley in the headshunt, or is it a sercet black 5 which no one knows about!
The R.A.T wasen't opperating that night :hehe:, anyway the belle is better in my opinion. 1 pullman coach and mrk 1's painted in pullman livery looks very nice behind any loco! From the footplate crew point of view its better aswell, as u get dinner on the footplate with plate, knife and fork!!!
As far as I know, its YUGO tank (damm thing!) > 27007 > 828 > Class12(?) > 45132 > Swanage > Parcels van > Unknown
In other words, its the big blue boring thing.
arh i know the one. i think that yankee tank will be quite fun to play with once it finished, just think its a 15xx but without the copper chinmy and brass bonnet :hehe: and in fancy dress as an american loco
. But i haven't had a good look up the headshunt for a while, last time was in november when there's no service.
i'll keep an eye out for u, i guess ur'll be around the shippin container next to the ash pile :hehe:. So u can find me i have dark brown hair, and i always weir a grease top with a midland region british rail badge weather i'm in the yard or on the footplate. I'm dwn in the yard every saturday as possible :hehe: and i'm there tomorrow out on can pac
I didn't know it was possible to bash and flail out of a 141!
