UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

Nice work! I haven't been to Beamish in years, is the railway line still running then? Last time I went they were struggling a bit apparently, although they were building a new line for the Rocket replica to run along.

One of the best museums I've ever been to, well worth the trip :)

J.B Don't suppose you've been on maps.live and had a look over folkstone at the channel tunnel. Excellent 3D shots.

Trains at Beamish.

JB The 1825 shed is used for the Pockerly Tramway which uses the replica locos (Steam Elephant, Locomotion etc), very interesting. I can not find my pictures at the moment, but Google gives more info. The "original" station and railway did not have working trains for a long time, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that this situation was due to improve, I think they had a visiting loco work recently.

Pockerley Tramway, Beamish

Found one, poor picture but hope it inspires someone to visit. It's just a shame that modern health and safety dictates the safety cages fitted to the rolling stock. I don't know how we survived when we were kids.

Here is a few more from my pennine route.

Around the NG to SG coal change.

Ons of the Mines locos unloads into the coal bunks while a heavy oil train speed through on the main line

The NG trucks are still being unloaded when NCB No 25 shunts empty trucks onto the lower level to be filled.

A wickham trolley sits in its shed while two class 31 speeds past with an express.

I hope you like.
Tell me what you think.

Outstanding Work.

I can't get the SG trucks to load on that thing.

I have it set up right, But got any tips?

I'm Useing the Built-in one.

Can you tell me what that kuid is for yours?

:-)

If you were to think of the most neglected UK loco for Trainz,it would be the Class 42! They rarely feature in any of our screens, however when you double head a long train, they do look really smart, not to mention using the custom sounds on the DLS.:D

Make Diesel 10 out of that! He's based on the 42. (MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!) Sorry, just couldn't resist! He's my favorite diesel loco. Or will I have to make him myself?

Or will Mstnoodle make him first? Pinchy could be a panto, first resting, then go up and open, to the side, then the other side. If we had him, we could remake the entire Thomas and the Magic Railroad! (Though they should have named it Thomas and the Magic Railway, Thomas is British isn't it?)

Sorry about the off-topic. Just couldn't resist!

Railway or Railroad?

Yes, Thomas is British or, at least, his creator was. But the idea that the word "railway" is British and "railroad" American has come about by a peculiar accident of history.

The first "inter-city" line in the world was between Manchester and Liverpool. In 1825 a Bill was presented to Parliament to authorise the construction of the Liverpool and Manchester Railroad. There were serious inaccuracies in the details of this Bill and it was rejected. The following year, a revised Bill was presented to Parliament. Parliamentary rules, I believe, would not allow a "second chance" to a Bill that had already been rejected in that session. So the new Bill, which became an Act of Parliament, was for construction of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway.

This may be an over-simplified version of history, but at the time the terms railway and railroad were interchangeable. BTW I notice that there are many "railways" in the US.

Thanks for the feedback on my two previous screenshots. It's appreciated! :)

Here are some more pictures from Bishop's Deverill.

My tribute to the Holy Trinity of Railway Clergymen. I've no idea who is who, but they represent the Rev. W. Awdry, the Rev. Teddy Boston, and the Rt. Rev. Eric Treacy, Bishop of Wakefield. They are the proof: God loves trains.

Nice screenie Nexus :)

But I think the balance will be lost after I've posted these.....:hehe:

After spending most of their lives in the midlands the 50/7 have been moved to new locations for a short time. Here we see number 50722 Aeris in Scotland pulling a broken down class 47 275 with a mail train. In the background 50722 sister loco 50725 Nova can be seen on shed. Both loco retain their odd liverys even as BR is broken into small companys.

I hope you like these Screens

Photo texture Wessex pink Mk2 BSO.....

Note the "new look" retextured bogies ;) (and yes, I know the door on the left hand side needs to be a different colour)

The rest of the Wessex pink rake should be finished in the next couple of days. I'm on the ball this week, aren't I? :)
