Reskin of Dubstars Intercity class 90 to be released soon via the Skodatrainz site :)

Could someone tell me how much of an effect the shadows have on framerates/performance, so I can get the best out of these?
BidMod.
If you mean the ground planes built into the Gresleys, virtually nothing (6 polys per carriage).
If you mean the Auran 'Enable Shadows' option then you might need a new PC.:)

Overmars, I wish I was that useless at weathering!

Two questions.

1. How do you weather locos like that?
2. Is that the Railwaves '47. If so, what is it like? (I am thinking of buying it)

Incidentally, if you want locomotives that you can switch off, check out Eldavos Railway Emporium. He has a class 58 and a class 08 for sale. You can turn the engines off in both Surveyor AND Driver, and they have other features too.

Best wishes,
Padster

1. You can use Paint Shop pro or Photo Shop to edit textures...

2. If you look on the railwaves website you can see reviews of the loco's...

http://www.railwaves.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=25_27&products_id=42

Look on the right and you can see the reviews...:)

Cheers,
Mike

Hi Andi,

I'd be very interested in seeing how these are done as I've seen them on your recent releases as well as some from FMA and they look very convincing, far better than anything the Auran shadows can do!

I'm assuming they need to be made a certain way going on the fact that they use six polygons rather than just one?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers,

JB

Nice shots all.

Two from Norden on the Hilltown Line.

A 141 waits in the northbound bay.

A 153 leaves with the ex Hilltown service.

Thanks. My PC is mid-range, which is good for route design because If my machine can manage then most people's can. I think the polys are being eaten by the loco in charge.

I'd assumed it was just a plane stuck to an attachment point, with a little translucency. Could be wrong though (since I have only my own GMax experience to base that on).

One from me,

LMS Jubilee class number 5616 'Malta GC' passes under the LNER mainline, thanks go to LMS Man for a great locomotive.:udrool:

Jubilee #45563 Australia, in BR Red with Gold lining is on the front of a long rake of MK1 coaches and is piloted by Jubilee #45566 Queensland, which is decked out in BR Blue.

(the Jubilees are in a custom livery, and can be purchased from LMS_Man at http://www.trainz-britannia.com/)

the MK1's are from Railwaves.

I'm new around here, and I have to say from what I've seen in this thread I'm both intimidated and inspired.

Anyway, here's my humble contribution. Two pictures from a very short route, a fictional line still under construction named Bishop's Deverill. It's my first "serious" layout, since every one I've made so far has been a throwaway single-baseboard thing, but I've been inspired from what I've seen here to actually put some effort into a route for once.:)

BishopsDeverill2.jpg

No. 47324 pulls a short passenger train towards Bishop's Deverill.

No. 47324 again, this time at a signal outside Bishop's Deverill.

I really like the Jinty at rail-sim.co.uk.
