Unfortunately I've yet to find a 3rd rail track that I can use to give me an authentic looking junction.

Therefore, if you are using Electrostars and CIG's I'm afraid you'll have to imagine the 3rd rail.

If however someone can show me an authentic looking junction using 3rd rail track, I will update it.

@ trackplate: why does 45000 have an LMS tender?!

@WEN: I appreciate your work tremondously, how do you get standing up people in trains?

@R3 where can I get that hellfire DMU, and will it have good brakes and a handbrake unlike your 31's, which I cannot use because of this?

Tried Bloodnoks track and followed my tutorial on how to make 3rd rail points

http://www.fileden.com/files/2006/11/5/350643/My Documents/3rd Rail Tutorial.doc

Makes some of the best 3rd and 4th rail track and if you follow my tut your 3rd rail points will looks sweet. Its hard work but the results are worth it.:)

They certainly are effective, but as you say it is a lot of hard work! I don't think I would have the patience or the time to do this especially with the amount of points around Brighton station!

One small point I notice that you say the difference between Merseyrail and Southern region is the side on which the 3rd rail is. I live in the Southern region and the 3rd rail changes sides regularly.

I see symon_c's Brighton to Hastings & Ore route is comming along,
Symon_c, if you could, post a shot of what your Brighton Terminal looks like, as well as London Road viaduct.
Heres what my Brighton terminal looks like:

London Road Viaduct:

Sorry to those who expect all textures to be down, with trees and houses etc, but currently i just dont have the time to do that. Also, more apologies as the images are a few days old, and both station and viaduct are slightly different.
A project log can be found here: http://forum.uktrainz.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=102&t=6364

Simon on average the mersey rail system has the 3rd rail in the middle of the 2 tracks but the southern region have the 3rd rail on the outer edge of the running rails

Actually thinking about it its nowere near the real place.Gonna chuck out that wall and add some shops and some cars then in another 20 years of work it may look like the real place lol.

Yet another new route that I'm working on (number 3 now!), as illustrated by 47813 ambling along it with a Midland Mainline stock move:

:)

I would call that careless driving.

Trains do not (that i know off) Drive down the centre of a road, heh

Sam

Remember guys this is fictional hence the light house lol.

Hey i only took 2 hours doing that. Its not very good i know but a couple of days work on it should have it looking to spec.

Simon I say on average but one thing I did forget to mention is that the 2 track sections the run along the back lines to brighton they will generally follow the merseyrail principle. Look forward to your imporved route :) Also if you need any further help do not hesitate to ask. Although from the end of september I will be off the trainz scene for a while due to having to have an heart operation in Leeds. Will be back trust me :)
