Great shots all

What's that you're up to there nexus? Between this shot and Aberdeen, I'm starting to get excited or shouldn't I?

I wouldn't get to excited all he's probably done is the station and a small bit of the surrounding area. Don't forget he's also done Ipswich and Stafford for screenshot purposes and never uploaded them to the DLS even though he's been asked numerous times before. No inditement on you Dave but you do continue to tease us with these brilliant screenshots of yours.

Ipswich is part of a larger route that extends from liverpool street to Norwich and Harwich . Even though the route is a shortened version with a fair few of the intermediate stops and countryside missing it's still a huge undertaking to get finished . The only complete section being between Ipswich and Manningtree . There are pictures of both completed stations on this thread .
Stafford is the same , the station area being completed but the surrounding areas are just plain boards .
I could release both but the complaints of unfinished work and the wasting of users bandwidths on here would out weigh the one or 2 thanks I'd get for releasing it .

The route in the screenshot above is part of my Mk1 electrification test route . One that I'm looking at releasing but up to the other week had stalled due to me trying to sort out the problems of setting up spline configs to be compatible with 2009 and above . Having found a solution I've just rebuilt 50+ config files , a situation I found extremely tedious . I could just release the catenary but then there will be complaints that folks dont know what to do with it or how the various bits go together .

As for posting these screenshots of unfinished /unreleased routes I will continue to do so whether folks like it or not !!

And many thanks to Chrisaw for providing us with some excellent Southern style semaphores :D

No complaints from me. I know how long these routes take (even single line ones!). They just look so damn good.

Come on Nexusdj, that looks almost like a carbon copy of Littlehampton! Thus I think it should be named so :P And I know 2 platforms need shortening, all electric units like a Class 313 in there somewhere, along with a 377, and perhaps a dodgy blue Renault Clio Mk1 somewhere on the left... No guesses who ones that.

Well, thinking of things, time to show off my pet project in all its buggy glory, Trainz seems to hate e-lighting, or I need to play with the settings abit.
Anyway, something is in place, something is most certainty out of place (even their replacements would still be out of place because of the time period, I.e. 2006 I think this was). The location you DON'T need to guess, although I've not updated the station to match the prototype as there are a few small details that has changed that weren't there when I touched this, like the allotment besides the country end got built on (yet more houses in the south of england... Groan!) and a regular commuter with ginger hair that's not commuting that much these days..... at the moment.

A bit of irony, I've got an interview about a mile and a half down the line tomorrow, with a view of working there. Good luck to me... or maybe not!

Nexus I will agree with PFX your Stafford station looks rather tasty and I wouldn't mind having a look at it in the flesh before I go to the Great Trainz land in the sky. Which will be in a few weeks if you not read my thread in general trainz :(

nexusdj.... I`m starting to drool at the thought of a route with Aberdeen in it - are you heading north or south from Guild Street ?

You can tease me any time with these screenshots !

My first screenshots for a while. I''ve been super-detailing Razor's lovely Ashburton route which is basically a one board layout depicting the well known GWR brachline terminus. I've upgraded the track and a lot of the detail as I have a fairly powerful PC, while retaining the landscaping, terrain etc. To distinguish it from Razor's original, I've re-titled it 'Asburton' - see what you think....

Asburton17.jpg

Under a beautiful mid-summer cloudless sky pannier tank 3669 waits with vans on the Tucker's Maltings siding as the morning 'rush' gets under way.

Asburton09.jpg

The 'local' heads out of Asburton with green 14xx class and maroon auto-coach heading past the signal box and small locoshed and turntable. [Note: Ashburton never had a signal box and the turntable was long gone by the end of passenger working in 1958.]

Asburton13.jpg

The 'cross-country' hoves into view later that morning. I think the schoolboys are going to get a bit of a surprise!

Asburton15.jpg

The cross-country working in the hands of 51xx class 6109 steams towards the station.

Asburton16.jpg

Arriving in the terminus, 6109 shelters from the early morning sun under the distinctive overall roof that distinguishes this branchline terminus.

Many thanks to Razor for creating this layout that inspired me to add the detailing. :)

very impressive if i had a more powerful computer then i would have liked to do more but as it was my computer was starting to struggle with all the detail i did, like to now where you got that station canopy from is it your own reskin?

Thanks for this, I'm pleased you like it. The station 'canopy' is actually formed from two sides of a shortline2 barn:- Barn, Shed 2p, 5x13m w/openings (white boards & shingle roof) walls only,<kuid2:77573:230493:1> It's very good fortune that the size is almost perfect. If I could reskin, I'd like to do something about the red posts though, perhaps white or GW chocolate?

I plan to start a separate screenshot thread to showcase some more pics from your layout, so thanks again for uploading it.

Just had a nice run on Vern's Ft William- Crianlarich with a blue NBL type 2, about time I joined it to the revamped Fort William- Mallaig :D

Tmz is that route on the DLS? as I can't find it :(

See this thread:

http://forums.auran.com/trainz/show...lliam-by-Vern-Moorhouse&highlight=crianlarich

There are a couple of links in there.

EDIT: I've checked my old e-mails, I do have permission from Vern to rework this route (as well as the Mallaig extension already released). Eventually I'll stitch them both together and upload as a single route. It's mainly the stations that need rebuilding with tarmac platform and curved edges. Now we have old maps I can use them as a reference.
